Anywhere in Manhattan is expensive. The outer boroughs have gotten almost as pricey, but you get a bit more room. I have a few friends in Astoria Queens and they love it, but hobbyists may be hesitant to go out there and the area has less cache value than Manhattan. If you are going to host “incall” appointments at home you may want to get an address in Midtown East as you will be strategically placed for "nooners" with the Business/Finance/Law set. Midtown is where many of the hotels are so you get the tourists too. Downtown Financial District may also work for the Finance crowd, but at night the area sucks although it has gotten better over the years. Tribeca may work better as it is close to Wall Street and has bars and restaurants that are open at all hours, but there are less hotels and tourists than you would find in Midtown. The Union Square area and Gramercy area are well located. Both areas are somewhat close to midtown and both are a quick 4/6 train up from Wall Street.  Sorry I am sure this is all very confusing.

The right easy to reach address could pay for itself in a few repeat customers per month so choose wisely especially if you are going to host at home.  I live in the East Village and the nightlife here is fantastic, but there are not many providers that I know of in the area. Make sure you pick your address well because it translates into dollars. You can realistically charge more with a Midtown/Gramercy/Upper East Side address than you can if you host in Brooklyn or Queens. These are just my opinions.
