Did any of you New Yorkers ever move away from the city, and then miss it? I should be happy where I am. I have a cottage in Ireland, right by the ocean. Lovely trees and mountains and so many rainbows. Always rainbows here. Double, Triple Rainbows. Its crazy how gorgeous it is here. Its pretty quiet and scenic. Yet I miss New York lol. I miss walking fast, jumping quickly into a yellow taxi, Getting a whim for any kind of food I can imagine, and then having it within 20 minutes. And I miss the way you guys dress up in your suits and ties, and many of you wear fun colorful boxers under your black suits That always made me happy to see. Anyway, there's no point really to this post. Just to say I miss New York. I think I pop in maybe once a year now to say Hi to you. Just to let you know Im still alive and well. Parting words for you New York ~ Just try to take your yoga classes and get daily doses of nature and fresh air. Balance is key. Noise, movement, fun, money, all that... but also find time for quiet, slow, charity, and rest.
Hope you all had a fun Halloween too. Take care. Flora
It's great reading such heartfelt words, Flora. I "escaped" to island living a while back only to find myself back in the big city for work reasons. I miss nature and a laid-back lifestyle terribly when I'm stuck in the city, but then I do also miss the frenetic energy when I'm away. Maybe the answer is to have a pied-à-terre here. No matter how your day is going, always remember, no rain - no rainbows!
I LOVE Ireland and try and get back to family every chance I get. I love the weather as I am not a hot weather person. Its the best place to escape to in my opinion. But I totally understand the missing of NYC.. The fast pace and they hustle & bustle of the city can be thrilling. ( another reason I love it here). But Ireland in all its glory, can be truly amazing. A place to loose yourself in.
I would easily switch apartment with you for a week or two!
Ireland sound so peaceful, I'd love to visit there sometimes, I seen this movie once where a girl from england switched apartment with a girl from the USA to find the love... it was a cute movie.
I Want to go somewhere on a vocation where it's very quit country like with mountains and trees.
Im very remote tho. Its not a working place just very very remote and a view to die for. Fireplace with lots of turf to make turf fires. ever smell a turf fire? Its heaven. Trading places would be cool you can meet a nice irish man and fall in love xoxxo and I could just get my hair done up nicely, have loads of sex with strangers, and enjoy the city delights that I left behind long long ago.
Met several times in NYC back when you were here, and had great times, then had a falling out over something that I thought was complementary on a TER post, but you thought otherwise. We burried it at an M&G years later, so I consider the slate clean. You?
Blessed Be I appreciate my old friends. We are all on a journey, finding our way. What's nice is to come full circle back to where you started, and find those people were very much part of the process of getting you to where you're at now. A better person as a result of all that you experienced
