Just need to vent

This isn't a review, as these types of services have always been good to me, and I totally understand that shit happens sometimes,  I just need moment to vent as I have no one else to vent to about such things.

I live outside of NYC.   Sometimes when I find myself traveling through Manhattan either for work or social, I'll make an appointment with a city provider.  And sometimes, when the urge is great, I'll plan day of it and make a special trip in to meet someone.  (It takes me anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5  hours to drive into midtown.)

I also occasionally like to visit some of the asian houses.  the experience is fairly scripted and usually no surprises, but the quality is consistent and I like that reliability.

There's a model at one of the asian houses whom I've met a few times.  I enjoy spending time with her, but she tends to be one of the more popular ones there, so it can be difficult to get an appointment at times.  So this, time I decide to plan in advance.

So on Tuesday I text the MMS asking if my preferred model is working  on Friday.    She responds yes and I ask if it is okay if book an appointment for Friday at 1:PM and she responds "Of course"  I respond "Great! I'll be there at 1:PM on Friday!"

Now remember it can take me a couple of hours to travel to NYC, so end up taking the day off of work and hit road giving me what I hope will be enough time to get to NYC, find parking and make to my appointment with time to spare AND I've been looking forward to this all week.  (I actually haven't hobbied in months, so I'm REALLY looking forward to it.)

Once solidly on the road, I send a text confirming that I'll be there at 1.  I get a one word response "sorry".  hoping this doesn't mean what I think it means I text back, "does she have to cancel?"  I get a response "sorry, (she) already booked at 1"
I ask "Are you sure that booking is not me?  I scheduled this on Tuesday"  and I get back "I am sorry".

I sigh, turn the car around, call my boss and say I'll work the rest of the day.  I'm almost to my job when I get a text from the MMS "did not see you had appointment, you can come at 1, see you then"

It's too late now, I'm already committed to work and now I've driven a half hour in the opposite direction so even if I called my boss back and made up some excuse, I'd never make it to the appointment on time.

I apologize and explain I can no longer make it, which I'm sure makes it look as though I was the one who flaked, but what are ya gonna do?

So now I'm bummed and frustrated.

Anyway, not looking for any solutions, I'm sure I'll go back, it was, I'm sure an unfortunate misunderstanding, just wanted to vent to some likeminded folks.

Thanks everyone!

In other words, while I'm sorry this happened to you, I'm sure you're aware that this goes on all the time. On both sides. I think most of us have a story like this. But, as you will I'm sure, we get back on the bike.
Good luck!
