Just saying

Hotels are at $500 a night now

If you want a woman who's donation was $300 would that be sketchy?

This is not advertising, I am just trying to figure out how to break into NYC one day and see how things work

...If you think of it in a vacuum as a business...
How many will you see in a day?
How many cancellations will you typically get, offset by your cancellation policies?
Times your rate and you get your net revenue in a day.
Unless you use a booker. $100-200/ trick off your margin on those visits. Ouch.

Expense wise:
Hotel - $500 ? I know for a fact that there are many ways to cut this in half, even to a third. And not to a flea bitten hotel. Just don't expect the St. Regis. I strongly recommend you think economically at the outset unless you can get to being a $500+/ hr girl right off the bat.

Transportation- I know some of you girls are taxi whores (pun not intended). At least $ fiddy a day.

Food - hookers eat?... Well, they should... Another $fiddy-80/ day.

Advertising- eros, p411, date check, GLS (ugh), hushmail- variable, amortized over the month.

Miscellaneous- coat check, parking, doorman, other tips that are the cost of doing business- variable but assume at least $20

All that said, you're not in a vacuum, so the competitive rates sort of cap your opportunity. For a girl with solid reviews and could handle a few clients every time you do incall, you could start at $400/h ( scaled for multihour) and adjust from there, depending on your schedule, style, quality of services, and financial needs,  etc. at $400, you can still have a $ up charge for Greek. At $500+/ hr, it's usually included.

Disclaimer: not a pimp, except in my fantasies.:)

You should never be paying 500 a night for a hotel room in NYC, unless maybe you are seeing someone for a special occasion and upgrading to a luxe suite.

I am a huge advocate of  Priceline. Also, search hotel prices on various sites before reaching for your credit card. There are so many good deals, you just have to find them.

I stay in 4 star plus hotels, and pay below 200. There are times when prices fluctuate, certainly, but 500 is just way too much.

Shop around my dear.
Hope this helps!

let me start by saying

I need to be in NYC and want to stay in a very expensive hotel

so I was asking (without The staff on this board think I am advertising)

Does it sound like a red flag if a lady like myself with great reviews stays in a very expensive hotel for a low rate (just two appointments, if any) to cover costs for my visit?
I am not asking about Hotel rates as I already know the hotel I want to stay in

I did not want to sound like a revolving door, high volume (yuck) provider if I advertise and say

Upscale yadha yadha yadha

oops…typo's sorry

What does have to do with "breaking into the business"?
If you want to charge a low rate and use an expensive hotel, go wild, though it's not a very good sustainable biz model. Lol.

Guys don't pay attention to how much you are spending on your hotel, unless you are in a real crappy, dirty place.  If you are at a nice hotel, guys will (if they think about it at all) assume you get good rates as with a frequent traveler program. But, generally, we expect nice hotels and prefer not to have to pay $1000/hour to see someone in one of them. :-)

Besides, if your process is the normal one, you won't tell anyone where you are staying until they are on the corner, 5 minutes before the appointment.  By that point, they just want to get the session started.  No one is going to have a negative opinion because of a nice hotel.

Hi Katrina,

Why the need to stay in an expensive hotel? Are you doing a photoshoot there and want to help cover expenses?

Unfortunately it's hard to get a good deal if you have your heart set on a particular hotel. I do understand that that isn't your point however.

The bottom line is that the guys aren't really care about your rate vs hotel cost. If you are truly only going to see two guys, then you'll likely be flexible on time which will in itself prove that you aren't going to be high volume with a tight schedule while there. Get it?

Your flexibility with them will subconsciously let them know that you aren't a revolving door and therefore the nice room will simply be a bonus.

Kiss me,

Kate

While I can only speak for myself in this gesture, as someone who books hotels regularly in the city, it becomes a rather different ballgame for those of us who don't reside there. The 'space' which is not our own, not only may act as the hosting of our dates, but also equally serve as our 'home' away from home while we are there. And yes, at times (especially now OMG LOL) it can be most challenging. Rates are higher than ever and there are pockets of weeks that are higher than others throughout the season.

Finding something in the happy 'medium' that is presentable, cost-effective and works for what you need it for in New York I have found is different than any other city in the US. It almost becomes a science if you know what you are doing at the right time and it's taken me a year to understand that science. Most times, 'rates' due to season change, will reflect the 'other' rates and what just is involved in accommodating the gentlemen they are meeting. Most gentlemen don't know the 'behind the scenes' for most women here until 'after' they have met and it is explained what is involved for some. Only then, do they usually understand that piece of the puzzle. And some, simply do not care. For those ladies who are lucky enough to reside where they provide, they are most fortunate I have found in the amount of time and availability involved in order to run their business successfully and efficiently. While others just have to live with doing a lil more legwork for the same outcome.

this really all depends on the 'type' of service you are providing. If you are a one date type of girl vs a revolving door as stated above, that will really decipher that bottomline # you hope to achieve at the end of the day. If you keep that # in the forefront as you go about this, no matter 'how' you go about it, I suppose success is success either way.

..... and agree you should still be able to get something 3* or much better on Priceline or 300/less also (bidding).
Also no I don't think 300-350hr is particularly "red flag" rate .... i've seen other well-reviewed ladies local and visiting in that range.
