I understand as a provider how important it is. But if it were not for this life-style, I would not have an iphone. I miss the days of just opening my phone and answering it. Now, I need two hands to just to answer my phone and bang it 10 times to hit "answer". Not to mention long conversations via text. I am not a qualified typist on a computer, imagine my lousy typing on a cell phone that has a touch screen. Yish...


Now, my mail box will be a little emptier with out my subscription to newsweek. I refuse to read one of my favorite magazines on my phone or on a computer.

When you sit on a train these days, its rare to see someone actually read a paper newspaper. Yet there I sit by my lonesome reading my ny times.

Look around next time you are on the train at how many people actually pull out a paper newspaper...

Times have changed. The trees will be happy this I know. I agree it is better for the enviorment, and I am guessing the eyeglass companies also.

But I for one, will miss you newsweek....I refuse to go tecky when it comes to newspapers and magazines..

Yup, I guess I am old fashioned.. But the only place I want technology to keep improving is in my favorite pastime..my race car...

Oh Bridgette, it's truly a sign of our maturity when we start longing for the way things were. It's funny how you've pinpointed the most sensitive spot too, changes in communications. I remember my dearly departed parents longing for radio in the early 70's. How the answering machine was the pivotal point in my dating life, because it gave the girl the power to just cut you off if she didn't want to talk to you. Communications are always going to be changing, yet the messages rarely change. Just remember, the good old days are still way ahead of us!

What is a  book, a newspaper, a magazine, a video store, a DVD, a video recorder, a gasoline powered car and on and on. YUP, there's no end to the advancement of technology nor is there an end to devising and  manufacturing products with the concept of "planned obsolescence" inspiring us to spend more and more money which is what makes the world go around. Mind you, I'm not complaining but simply communicating and enjoy living through the joy of advanced technology.
