But, personally, I only do incall.  So do let me know!  Really!

Incall is WAY more favorable for most guys. Helps with keeping down low (no cc evidence or risk of being seen booking a room in the same city where you live - try 'esplanin' that) and avoids brain damage from having to decide what level of hotel is appropriate for the occasion ($150 or $800 - hummmmmm). I imagine only visiting gents or high rollers are truly agnostic.  

Unless she's a *special* friend.  

In that case, he would happily:
- Splurge on a big room on the LES with fantastic midtown views and a huge Japanese soaking tub,
- And a fat gift scarf of hand-picked fragrant soaps and bath bombs and foot cream from "Lush",
- And a chilled bottle of Domaine Paul Pillot, Chassagne-Montrachet "Les Mazures", 2009,
- And a tasty mix of blueberries, strawberries and premium organic jelly beans.

But I can't imagine ANY guy doing that.

Always favor incall unless you can host.

And heaven knows, at the rate at which my addiction to the hobby grows, I must:

New York is not like Vegas or Florida where a large part of a provider's client base will be married men who are on a "boys-only vacation" or something like that (hence making an outcall only business model practical).

In New York, there will be many more clients who also live in and around New York; there won't be many men on vacation, who are staying in a hotel already as it is, as might be the case in one of those "vacay" cities.  In NY, I think it's much better for a visiting provider to have a temporary incall location of her own at the fine hotel of her choice.

The clients will appreciate the extra anonymity of not having to secure a room under their own name.

incall is the most popular from these answers. I totally understand. How willing would guys be to pay a little extra for incall? I think I can reasonably do one night between staying at friends' places, but it just would be too hard to explain why I'm not staying w them the other nights...  the trip's more pleasure than business at this point

90% of the locals would prefer you have incall available. Girls who spend money on renting an incall do charge extra to help offset the cost, some guys are cool with that- some not so much.

However NY gets many, many business travelers. They'll all have a hotel room to host in.

Another slight issue with renting a hotel to have as an incall for the locals is that the locals tend to prefer daytime (tend! Many are flexible for early evening as well) and that would require either a day use hotel or two nights in a row at one. Whereas business travelers tend to be free in the evenings.

These are generalities. There are of course many different exceptions/variations. The above are my own observations after being active here for over a year now. Luckily, this is NYC and you'll find a surplus of options in regards to both the men you'll want to meet- and where to meet them.
