I for one, got in to this "hobby" hoping to find a person who could be a real friend as well as providing the passion and intimacy and FUN that's always been missing from my life. In almost 2 years active in this scene, I've only met one person who I really think I could connect with in this way, but alas she's only an occasional visitor to the area. The "mileage" would not matter one bit to me with the right person. There is now some serious mileage on me!  Could I fall in love and leave my current life?  I don't think so, but the fact that she's a provider is not the reason. There's not much in this life that's worth more than passion, fun and friendship, so why pass on it just because of the way someone makes a living.
Just one guy's thoughts on the question.

Most of the guys who see providers are probably developing some serious mileage themselves.

My personal feeling, people involved in this hobby, on either side, are probably extremely sexual people, so they would make good matches for eachother.

Experience has never been a downer for me.

I've seen this before, you've got "HOOKER SYNDROME". Every guy you meet pays you to have sex with them so you think that any guy that is going out with you and not paying you is getting as you put it, "more for less!". He actually is the sucker in this case and not you because all he has to do is give you some $$$ and get down to buisness instead of whispering sweet nothings in your ear. The cure for "HOOKER SYNDROME" is simple, just be GRATEFUL somebody out there wants to be with you cause your not exactly a girl scout.

The answer for the most part is YES IT IS!!!  You have to remember that in this business we run into A LOT of mind-manipulators and game-players. This group treats us just as they treat women in their "normal lives". Nothing changes just because one decides to book an appt...

Just be careful. This business can be a cruel CRUEL world we live in sometimes... SOMETIMES, not all; I also love my job!

Are you sure that "love" is the right word?
In most cases we are the "fantasy" part of their life.Their real lives are somewhere else. Which is o.k. Isn't it like that for us sometimes too? Thats why we are all here. However, I think that if we fill our lives with as much constructive personal activity/people as possible we will not project the "lack" of closeness that comes from personal relationships. Most of the time these guys do care about us at least as friends.I think they pick up on this "need" and try to come to our rescue, or maybe they are experiencing some degree of this in their own lives at the time.I am not sure but it seems that this is usually how this situation comes about. I am sure there is probably exeptions. I am also sure that they are rare.Very rare.
