I attempted to make a reservation while in NY for vacation. despite having multiple references, she asked for a copy of my ID, which I regrettably sent. I have not heard from her since she got a copy of my id. I dont care about seeing her and find her insignificant, but I am worried about my information floating out there. is this common in NY? should I be worried?  have others provided copy of ID despite multiple references?

Many recent reviews. Seems legit. Contact (PM) some of her recent Reviewers and ask them.

I saw her recently. she is super nice and seems like a genuine person (review pending). In terms of being asked for ID, it varies but not uncommon. really depends on what makes the lady comfortable. DM me if u want to chat privately.

Given Acesup's reply, maybe you should reach out to Charlotte again.  Pick a strategy for your next email and contact her again.
.
How long since your last contact? A week? A month? Sometimes you don't get a reply for life getting in the way (had to take care of a sick relative; got Covid; client took her to Europe for 2 weeks; ...). Sometimes it's sloppy biz keeping or forgetfulness. Sometimes it's an email glitch (did you check your spam box?). And so on.
.
On Newbie, "How long should I wait to contact her again?" (after not getting a reply) is a common question. And what attitude or tone to take (concern, anger, desire, ...). And details. E.g., "I saw you had another recent review (maybe Aces' review), and I would still like to see you. ..." "I hope my credentials checked out. ..."
.
Good luck.

alas, it was not meant to be. I made contact a 2nd time, but to no avail. for what its worth, I dont even think its the provider, but rather an over zealous assistant. Either way, they have a copy of my ID, which does not seem like its in friendly hands. I learned a new lesson after 20 years in this hobby, it wont happen again. for others, proceed at your own risk.
