I provided the same info -- recommended the Nassau/Suffolk border.

It consists of 2 counties separated into multiple "Townships" which are kind of like mini counties within the counties. Each Township has several smaller towns or Villages within them. So if you asked where someone on LI lived they would tell you, Lindenhurst or Melville or Farmingdale or Syosset which would be the local town or Village they are from.
Nassau County butts up against the outskirts of NYC to the east of Queens and Brooklyn (which are geographically located on the West end of the Island but are not considered part of it). Nassau is only 26 miles wide at its widest point but as the primary suburban area to the East of NYC it is highly populated. The North Shore is nicknamed "The Gold Coast" because of the high concentration of wealthy individuals who have and do make their homes there. The South Shore is generally more working class white and blue collar except for the poorer areas in the Town of Hempstead. Nassau is fairly close and easy to get to (within an hour) of NYC.
Suffolk County makes up the rest of the Island and from the Route 110 Business Corridor on the border with Nassau all the way out to the Hamptons, Montauk and Orient Points has varied levels of income and panache. The Hamptons out East is generally the summer playground for the rich and powerful but is kinda dead in the winter. Best bet for providers touring would be to stay on the West end of Suffolk due to higher populations and convenience to Nassau and NYC.
Nassau had a LE sting a few years back that swept up a whole bunch of guys and had everyone leery for a long time. LE is always a topic when someone brings up LI on TER lately.
There are a few intrepid ladies who venture out and do very well as well as a lot of homegrown talent, however most of the scene in p4p seems to be BP gals. Which is a damn shame. P411 only lists 17 providers on the Island. The other problem is, due to relying on BP el cheapo providers, generally LI hobbyists are always looking for a bargain. Thise who aren't cheap or don't have time constraints take the trip into Manhattan where higher prices and quality abound.
There are a large number of LI hobbyists though on TER and I believe we all want slightly less expensive than Manhattan but way higher quality than the BP scene. There is a niche waiting to be filled!
