I sometimes check out Eros - NY (less frequently Cityvibe). Lately I wonder why. OK, I'll admit the Visiting category is useful to find out reviewed Providers who might be coming in from out of town. But I also spend time searching through the Independent Category and the Verified Photo Category.
Many of the hotties that you come across have no reviews on TER and do not link to web sites or reviews anywhere else. For example check out Heather, Kira, Luna (she has a web site), Nadia (not the girl from BDJ), Darla, Nadine, Julia, Kelly and Alice to pick out a few that struck my fancy. So who takes a chance on seeing these Providers? Especially in light of the recent LE activities.
Of course there is the concept of "take one for the team" and until recently I believed in that concept. Too risky now. But there is another huge caveat with that approach. Some of the hotties listed in Eros (some under the Verified Photo listings as well) do have TER reviews, sometimes under other names. Laura http://eros-ny.com/files/ny-tm1-laura1.htm and Jordan http://www.eros-ny.com/files/ny-tm1-jordon1.htm Also Ashley, an incredible beauty http://www.eros-ny.com/files/ny-tm1-ashley2.htm , but I swear the Eros photo and the photo on her TER link is really one of Brianna Banks the porn star.
So with that kind of track record for Eros listed Providers, would it ever make sense to see an unreviewed Eros Provider? I have walked out in the past when the woman who showed up or answered the door was not the same as the one in the picture. But it is awkward and sometimes embarrassing and you are left holding the bag, so to speak, and sometimes we just give in and decide to go for it because of the urges at the time.
Eros, what is it good for?

Lawyer, You raise a valid point in your subject question as well making good arguments in the body of your comments. My .02 is that I find Eros useful as a central location for seeing who's coming to town [most legitimate out of town providers coming to town do advertise there] as long as you can differentiate the wheat from the chaff which I feel I can do as I'm sure you can also. I generally ignore ads for non-reviewed providers as well as ads that require a follow up call because there are no prices or other specifics that you feel a legitimate provider would readily indicate. Thanks for raising the subject. It's a good one. I hope other people express their opinions.

Eventually there's almost nothing worth the time and energy to spend there. But, at the same time, most of the reviews here do come from Eros.
That picture of Ashley is Brianna Banks. And I've been waiting for a few reviews of Kira.
It's a long process in New York because there are so many ads on Eros. In smaller markets you can search everyone and find the ones with reviews. I imagine there are some with reviews on the new york eros board but you could spend a long time searching for them.
You do bring up some good points. I think you need to use TER with EROS. I am sure that some guys only know about EROS and not TER and they get burned with bad service providers on a regular basis. Stick to TER reviewed girls. Also, remember that not all agencies and independents that travel to our area advertise on TER. This is why I check EROS out every week. When seeing a provider on EROS always do your homework and see if she has any TER reviews. As you already stated it's a gamble to see a girl with no reviews. As far as taking one for the team I would suggest only doing that with well reviewed agencies at this point. When the smoke clears and LE finds other things to do with our tax dollars, then I would suggest trying different unknown providers and taking one for the team. Right now it's a risk, but that will change with time.
All good points but one question. On a daily basis there are new providers that come in the service whether indie or with agency. How do they get reviews unless someone is willing to take the plunge? Do you feel that you maybe missing out on a lot? I do understand the concern as far as safety and rip off artists but there are other ways to make sure someone is legit. Agree or Disagree? For example we have Lacey visiting next week and she has no reviews. Does the fact that she is a porn star and one can look her up on the net to see her movies make her legit? or do you still rather wait until someone else puts up a review? Just some questions I always wondered about.

She had zero reviews when I tried her. I saw her a second time last week, she is learning and was 50% better than the first time (did not think it possible), plus she wants constructive criticism. The only downside is that she is not planning on staying in the business for long.
The two other women that I met on EROS are red hot, but were not GFE. They did provide solid basic service, which when coupled with their looks was enough for me. I plan to meet with one of them in a few weeks for an extended session. I think that when paced right, she will give a GFE performance and with her looks, wow!

One of the model quality ladies that has some restrictions did tour NYC, but I would only suggest her to someone that can tolerate the restrictions. The other restricted lady that I plan to visit again soon is in college and does not tour. I can PM you with names if you want, just let me konw. I will not say whether I reviewed any of them or not on this public board, because my sessions with all were satisfying and because of that I prefer to help maintain whatever privacy they want.
I would at least like to see a web site which will usually have more photos and more specific information about services and price. Some web sites have their own reviews posted. At least if you get the beautiful woman you thought you were getting, even if not a GFE or great service in the end, the consolation is doing it with a gorgeous babe.
willing to take a few minutes and talk to you without being pushy are typically the real deal. They look better than their photos, their bodies are fit and eve when they have restrictions that I do not like, I come away feeling that I had a good sesion with woman that I would probaly pursue if she was a civvy.

I have learned to give the ladies a call for a short cordial chat before making a decision. The chat is about general things like whether she does outcall, rates, ect. No graphic stuff at all. The ones that are willing to take a minute or two to answer basic questions have turned out good.
You are more likely to meet a lady that have rules that you would rather she not have, but all that I have met provided solid basic service and one was a 100% GFE from the start and is only getting better. I plan to see one my non-GFE EROS contacts again within the next two weeks, I noticed something about her the first time that implies that she can do a GFE performance if she is nurtured along by creative foreplay first. I like the challenge that I will have in getting her to give a GFE performance, but the woman has a glowing hot body and a model face, if I get what I am looking for, I will savor it for weeks. And of course, I plan many more sessions with my young GFE that I found on EROS.
I found that the ripoffs are not willing to go out of their way to meet with you, want appointments immediately, not set days in advance and do not want to spend much time on the phone.

VERY mixed success. I found one provider who is now a good friend, one of my ATFs, (and has even invited me to her home). On the other side of the coin, I've had bait and switch, gals that end the session as soon as you pop, CBJ, and thieves. Two providers (that I found on Eros) turned me on to TER. I've NEVER had a bad experience since I started using disciplined criteria for TER provider searches. I always use the following criteria in a search: multiple pops, full no rush session, uncovered BJ, overall average 8 and up, and C cup or bigger (I like big tits). Greek is a plus. And obviously click NO on the Transsexual question! If those criteria are followed in a search, and the girl has multiple reviews, you can't go wrong. These days, I use Eros, Cityvibe, and Ny-exotics solely to find out who is in town/visiting. I gotta admit though, some of the NON reviewed hotties on Eros ARE tempting. Using Eros alone is a crapshoot.
call the ladies to ask a few non intrusive questions and state what I will do if she is not the person inthe picture (give her cab fare and send her away or walk away if I am going to an incall). The ripoffs, upsellers, and those that lie about their photos do not want to waste their time with a guy that will not play their game, so they end the conversation quickly. I have found that ladies that hang on for the duration of my chat with them are real, but as I have written over and over, some will have restrictions that they apply to activities of the session. If a person absolutely need certain services, then it is better not to test a newbie from an escort mall.
I have been suckered 2x's by those Eros pics, no discernable reviews...and I will never do it again. Now, I do check out Eros just to see if anyone I know is visiting. If I don't know them or find definite TER reviews for them, I simply enjoy the pics and the fantasy, 'cause they ain't real! Just my view.
