TER is really the "Zagat guide for escorts"!!!  If you want 5 star food, you could eat it almost every night in NYC providing you check Zagat and NY Times Reviews, and you have the money. To expand on my metaphor, you might have 5 star food at a French restaurant one night (think Le Cirque),  again the next night at at a seafood reastaurant (think Le Bernadin), then Japanese the next (think  Nobu). Saturday night you might want the best steak in town and you opt for Peter Lugar or Sparks. These meals, if rated like pussy on TER would surely garner nothing but 9s and 10s. If you do your TER homework, MOST of your providers should be in the 8-10 range. In our hobby, the different "languages spoken" are like different cuisines. Now I've been too serious with with all this metaphorical crap.  What I really want for dinner is room service with Asian served for 1st course, Russian for 2nd, and Greek for dessert!!! you see a list of some reviewers reviews and everyone he has ever seen is a 9 or a 10? Can anyone be that lucky? Can those guys buy me some lotto tickets? Maybe its just a great attitutude saying "everything I do is once in a lifetime". Am I missing something here?

I don't review every visit.  I prefer to review the better experiences.  If it's a rip-off, I will complain, but I just don't like to criticize a so-so performance.

Generally I am selective who I review.

If the lady has many reviews & my expereince was the same... I pass on the review. Just nothing to add.

If it's an average experience, I also tend to pass on submitting a review. If I had a great time.. I do tend to take time & post or write a review.

FWIW.. I would also make sure to write a review or post a blurb for someone who was a ripoff or not representative in appearance or fee vs service offered. I have done that on numerous occassions on another site before I found TER & now use this source exclusively. But lately I am getting better in my selection process since using this resource.

As someone whose published reviews are all 8's, 9's and 10's, with a high percentage of the latter (but then, I think you knew that :-), let me offer a few thoughts.

Like the Alias King (does no one use their main handles anymore?), I do not write a review of every encounter, and tend to write only when particularly moved to do so. I too would surely write a "warning type" review of a rip-off or an exceptionally bad experience, but I have never actually had one.

And, as our humble moderator points out, it is not a matter of luck, but rather of research (dare I say hard work?), both here and through other sources. Simply put, I only contact ladies who I have reason to expect will be exceptional in one way or another.

As for the "once in a lifetime", I have always had a problem with that verbal description. Rather, I conceptualize it simply as a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 - think Bo Derek, 1979. If taken literally, what is a hobbyist to do if he awards a 10 after his most spectacular experience to date, one which really knocks his socks off, and then, a month or a year later, has an even better one? Taken literally, a gent could never award a 10 until after he hangs up his spurs (do any of us really?), looks back and reflects upon his entire time in the hobby, and selects the one experience which was without equal.

Given the verbal descriptors attached to the numeric ratings here in TERland, I'm not sure what a better alternative would be. But "once in a lifetime" does not and cannot mean literally that. To me, it's just a number - a number which represents a truly spectacular, exceptional and amazing experience. These do come along more than once in a lifetime.

I've yet to experience a 10 and seem to think that many reviews seem to be too generous with their ratings. But different people different strokes. I find that my wants might change from date to date: I've had sessions where a couple of cocktails and an erotic massage was sufficient, and others where I'm looking for the ultimate PSE. Providers are also human, some might be having bad days and as much as they try they just can't seem to mask it. There are so many factors that come into play and at least for me  the stars haven't aligned themselves yet.

and the guys' history of scoring.

If you do enough research it is possible that the ladies you see can be 9s and 10s often.

Personally, I have only given out two 10s for performance EVER!  I do look at the description of "Once in a Lifetime" as just that.  I wouldn't think that I am overly harsh in my descriptions and offer a nice account of the date.

you've awarded three 10s, not two - check your reviews.

But two or three, it still proves my point: ONCE in a Lifetime cannot be read literally.

Cheers

I agree with a number of the posts.   There are two questions here to me.

First, is it legitimate when a reviewer has only 9s and 10s.   I think that it is if the reviewer is like me (and several of the other commentators) and does not write reviews of mediocre performance, especially if the provider tries hard.

Second, at first I was put off by the "once in a lifetime" description, until I concluded that it meant the highest grade you could give.   I have been hobbying for more than 20 years, and I give a 10 sparingly.   I think we all should.   But if a provider deserves a 10, I see no reason to deprive her of it.

I agree with most of what's been posted above. I only write reviews when I have something new to add.  I also research extensively and tend to see the higher rated providers because time is so valuable to me I want the best experience possible. Also, I think that my ratings have been validated by similar ratings from other creditable reviewers.

On the other hand, ratings are very subjective. Looks are in the eye of the beholder and Performance seems to be a combination of TER objective criteria and a large subjective component that pushes the rating even higher. Look at all the 9s and 10s that don't even meet the TER criteria.

I suggest a third category - Overall Experience - which would be entirely subjective.  Make Performance entirely objective based on services provided or offered.  This will allow someone to assign a 10 for Overall Experience even though the performance was lower (no BBBJ, no DFK, no Greek, etc.).  I notice that a lot of first time reviewers overrate performance because they can't believe they just got laid!  I've discussed this in previous posts.

So when I see a reviewer who gives out 9 and 10's
all the time in looks...
I take it with a grain of salt and check out other reviews for that particular provider. It's not to say that the provider is not gorgeous in combination of body, face, appearance, and dress
...but a 10?

In addition, every hobbiest has different tastes in what kind of lady he will see.I was surprised to see that some reviewers give continuous 10's in looks to different looking women.
I tend to think that a great session performance sways many hobbyiests to make what should be an 8 rating,a 9 and a 9 , a 10.

As for a 10 in performance..."Didn't know it was a service"  which is a 9 rating is a pretty dam outstanding rating in my book.As for a 10....I knew it when I felt it and experienced it and I have only one 10 in my book so far although it now has happened many times with that provider.

Cheers!

Well put, well said. Looking I have only one 10 too, but with careful research alot of 9's. That's why TER is so great. Looking back though Taylor James should have gotten an 11!

I research, research & research before I see most girls.  So I tend to see very high quality girls.
