I agree if it's an outright vicious ,unfounded, attack.

If it's a ribbing, a joke, then no.

Provider attacks with no basis, or credibility, are just plain wrong!

that I don't allow alias attacks directed to providers.....that doesn't mean that we can not be critical....but we use our "TER Username" rather than an alias......so if I'm pissed at XXXXXX, I critize as Dingus.....rather than as (one of my alias') - on the Phoenix board, alias posters sometimes have their name changed from their alias....so the community knows the real colors of the poster.....

What do you think.

I totally support this change.  There are multiple recent instances of this -- someone with an alias attacking a provider (and trying to claim she is male); another alias apparently threatening a provider, like a stalker, and suggesting that customers for this provider may risk arrest.  I am troubled by these posts in any event, but they certainly should not be allowed to occur behind a false name that no one can trace.  We cannot even tell if these people are providers or hobbyists, male or female (or, for that matter, whether they are LE).

I can understand when someone wants to share a sensitive fact about his or her personal life and seeks friendly advice and so does that under an alias.  But I cannot think of any good reason to allow someone to slam a provider behind the mask of an alias.

TER does not allow hobbyists to post "anonymous" reviews -- and for good reason.  Can you imagine the abuse that would occur?  But allowing anonymous posts that slam a provider are just as bad, particularly when they attack a provider in a way that will undermine her business.  Some of these alias slams have been in direct response to a provider posting an announcement about her availability, and appear to be directly calculated to scare off customers.  That should not be permitted.

This is a moderated board, so there is nothing wrong with blocking posts.  It is naive to think this is about free discussion.  People are trying to make a living, and their honest efforts to do so should not be undermined by anonymous attacks.

how about the phony or incorrect reviews that damage a provider, when the reviewer give the wrong location for the girl, an inaccurate description of her body and an report of strange behavior no other reviewer has noted.

At its best, ours is a society whose laws command that we not bear false witness. And to attack under an alias -- unless the subject of the attacks is an evil or punitive force -- is the act of a moral coward. IMHO.

I am a mask maker. Moderating the mask wearers, means I may have to move to Venice. I've sold alot of masks to those who are  immature, name-callers, bitter, jealous, bored and vindictave. Yes, I'm aware of the results that occur when a provider's attacked by an alias: Her phone stops ringing, she has to fight to keep her good reputation, she loses sleep (where already there is a lack of, since she works long hours each day), suffers migranes from stress and worry, and has to defend herself, or beg her friends to stand up for her...
Actually, now that I think about it, I did love Venice, the carnival is so brilliant, and those who wear masks only make love and not war... So...ok, my decision is made, stop the mask wearing when they are used to attack the innocent.

I would suggest that most of us support your position whole heartedly.  The cowards should be exposed.
