Best Provider Websites?

I am hiring a designer to work on my new site and am in need of ideas.

Personally, I appreciate sites with a sense of whimsy & character, like Victoria Jolie's previous site or Sitara Devi's first site. Too bad both sites are gone because I would have liked to have shown the web designer.

What are some of the best adult or non-adult sites you've seen in terms of creativity, overall beauty and usability? What did you like about them?

Check out Archive.org where it takes occasional snapshots of websites.

Is this the one you liked?

My first website in 2007 for another persona was fkin 10k! I can't tell you how stupid I feel for not spending that money on something else, but I will say the first 2 months of launching made that back and then some. Still, you don't need to spend thousands of dollars to make an impression in this industry. I have a friend who charges a grand for 2 hours and still has a free escort website...she is in the Top 100.

The website I have now was less than 700 total and that includes CMS capability to edit my own site whenever I want, and a year of hosting, plus domain name. His his work is equally as good as top designers, but he charges a 3rd of what they do. James is awesome to work with, has the best prices in the biz, and his stuff does not look cheap if you tell him what you're looking to get as far as image. He is my Scott Church if you will of web design...

A few of my faves from randon designers are

www.saraprescott.com

www.mikahoffman.com

www.tylorblake.com

www.tesseloise.com Tess used the same designer I did back in 07, so she paid at least 6k for that site if not more.

Swnyc, Initially I had no clue what you were talking about and nothing came up in a search. Then I encountered her banner on a providers page. How ironic.

Falcons, that wasnt the same site. The one I saw had postcards and travel inspired graphics. Maybe it was someone else?

London, I noticed one of the examples was a veda site. Her work is so beautiful.

Thank you for your input !

... it's the website designer that you need to make it all work.

The best analogy is a tattoo artist. If he/she is not a good artist, then that design you gave to him/her will suck, but if you submit that same design to another tattoo artist who has great reviews and experience to back it up... that design will look great on you.

Same analogy goes for website designing. Just because you picked out someone doesn't mean that person will do the job you want done. Don't pick from a friend of a friend... those are usually bad choices.

I do website designing, but I am very selective who I do the designing for.

Just my 3 cents...

I used a wordpress blog as my first site, but decided I would be taken more seriously with an actual custom-designed website. I looked around and loved the ones by the designers London recommended, but as I was just starting out, I decided to design my own.

Let us know what you come up with!

I've always considered you in that courtesan class of providers like Brooke St James, Nicole Blush and the now retired Kasey Daniels.  You have that natural elan that is so rare and enviable in this business. Take a look at Brooke's site. It's a great example of elegance and exclusivity but without any arrogance.

Just to be clear, Web site development from scratch generally consists of three to four steps:

1. Designing an overall user experience/information architecture for the entire site (this is usually done by a UX/Information Architect who specializes in just this discipline), which usually manifests itself in what are called "wireframes" for the site. Later, once the site is designed and written, the UX specialists will typically write functional specifications for the site developers. If it's a large site, a Content Matrix will also be developed, sort of an outline for the writer(s), but most escort sites are pretty small, so this step isn't necessary.

2. Art Directing/Designing and writing the site using the wireframes as an overall guide.

3. Optimizing the site for search (using various best practices to help ensure your site appears at or near the top of Google and other top search engine results). Writing a blog and Tweeting regularly can also help improve your overall search engine results as long as you link back to your site. The more traffic to your site from third party sites, the better.

4. Coding or developing the site. This is the back end of the site, making sure everything works seamlessly.

Web sites are, essentially, software. So, when you build a site, you're building a software program and need a team that know what they're doing across multiple disciplines to give you the best possible result. If you think of what you're doing as building a business, the investment in your site should pay off by generating new revenue for years to come. Especially if you and your team design your site to be scalable, so it can grow as your business grows.

There are a lot of marketing tips and tricks out there that some providers use quite effectively, from building email lists to preferred customer rate structures that can also help. There's lots of info on the Web about this if you do some research.

I love your site and the way you present yourself. Who doesn't like a feisty lady?

Update (assuming anyone is interested): The web designer says she can execute my idea! Which was something resembling a cook book. Very excited.

Thank you for the suggestions
