Hey all!  I'm coming to town next week and would like to know your opinion on the best running plays and musicals in town.  I absolutely love the arts and would like to see a few shows.  Thoughts and opinions welcomed!

Phantom of the Opera is terrific musical

Rock of Ages.  Any comments on this one?

Damn , you are missing me by a week. Too bad , we could enjoy a show or two together.  Of course you are a pretty good show yourself !

When are you going to be there?

It's awesome, and so nice that there's something original as opposed to the slew of Disney movie retreads that have inundated Broadway the last few years.

I go to theater about once every two weeks:

1. Book of Mormon...best show out there, but an impossible tickets
2. Jersey Boys...still a ton of fun
3. Wicked...another tough ticket, but a great show...startts a little slow but takes off
4. Lion King...i know...seems cheesy but if u have not seen this show, be prepared for some incredible sets
5. Spiderman-  Hated this show, truly hated it....but....some people love it due to the flying...take your chances
6. Mamma Mia....this is a lot of fun if you love Abba music.  
7. Sister Act....surprisingly upbeat and fun
8. Billy Elliott.   A cute musical version of the hit film...closing in January, so see it before it closes
9. Rock of Ages...if you love 80s music, this show is a home run

10.  War horse.  If you can get to see this show...do it...it is absolutely stunning.  Not a musical but an incredible puppet style show...too hard to describe
