Different Standard - Male and Female Attractiveness?

off with a slamming body, on the other side of the coin, an out of shaped body will ruin a girl faster than it will a man.

I was wondering if people agree or disagree with me on the following about whether there is a different standard for male and female attractiveness..... The one-sentence synopsis is that girls with just okay faces but with hot bodies, nice hair and skin, and who are made up well, are generally considered more attractive than their male equivalents.

Let me flesh this out .... I think that there are females who are often deemed "hot," who do not have pretty faces, because they are able to apply makeup, style their hair, and either workout so they are toned or augment their bodies through surgery. The typical example is a female with long blonde hair and a hot body, but the face isn't, let's just say, her best quality. A good example I can think of off the top of my head is a Jennifer Aniston type. Or maybe some of the ladies from the Orange County Housewives. Or if you look at, say, some porn stars - no names come to mind - they provide even better examples. But still, many guys drool over these ladies.

With guys, it seems different to me. To be considered handsome in our society, I think the guy needs a decent face. Then again, there are certain females who really go for muscle-bound guys, or guys with a certain look (say, like a biker) and for them, the face does not matter so much. These guys are deemed attractive, but only, I would say, by a small percentage of girls. Like the Jersey Shore type girls. Actually, Jersey Shore is a perfect example of this. The guys on that show do not have handsome faces, but they are "Guido juice heads," as Snooki puts it, and their Shore counterparts dig them. But most others would not deem them "hot."

But I would venture that a larger percentage of guys think that the female version is hot than vice versa.

Do people agree or disagree? Hobbyists - what is more important for you in a lady? Providers - how about for you?

... I'd say both are equally important for me. However, I look for different things when attracted to a guy or a girl. In men, the body is important to me - no specific type but just looking like they take care of themselves (but certainly no guido juice-heads!), and dressed well, with a nice smile. However, with women, their face is more important to me than their body - I love a beautiful face on a girl! Interestingly enough, I have a "type" when it comes to women but with men I am attracted to various different types.

I disagree with your synopsis and suggest that both would be equally attractive at first glance.

I dislike this word hot.  What does it really mean?  When I hear the word hot  to describe someones attractiveness, I immediate feel like the person using it is going all the way down the street and around the corner to NOT call the person beautiful or handsome.

Hot would suggest to me that there is some element missing there for you, but the attraction is enough for sex to occur.

I think your opinion that men have to be more facially attractive may be because men can't flaunt their goods the way women can through attire, giving less there for judging.

What's attractive to me is outside the box.  I find people who have contrasting features most beautiful, men and women.

For me I could not look at a picture of a facial attractive man and feel attraction the way most of my male counterparts could.  I need to see the movement of the flesh, hear the person speak, be engaged and have some type of chemistry to find them attractive.  I am more complicated, but I am a woman.

Sex is felt in the loins, beauty is felt in the heart. Girls are beautiful, women are sexy. When you feel the heat it let's you know why you are a man. No apologies.

Back in the day, no cave woman would touch you if you didn't act like a hunter or warrior. As women, we all have our 'type' as blue pointed out, but what really makes a man handsome is his confidence, strength, decisiveness & prosperity (the boobs & ass equivalent).

I prefer face over a hot body any day. Your body composition can always change with physical activity but a beautiful face...
