I am so excited to be returning to NYC and want to explore more of the city while there. I have enjoyed some of the more common things (Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Wax Museum), but this time want to brach out a bit. I am pretty open in terms of cuisine and types of places, but really want to prioritize unique experiences. I also would like to stay in Manhattan since I will not be there long this time. Thank you in advance!

Your lazy post says more about you than the girl. And you're hiding behind an alias too.

Can you try just scrolling if you don't like a post? Being ugly and miserable for no reason isn't a good look on you or anyone else, just saying. Hope you have a restful day cause carrying that much negativity has to be exhausting.

Here’s three must-sees:

1.       Tiffany’s flagship store.  5th Ave and 57th  Wander in and take the elevator to the seventh floor, then walk down the stairs all the way to the first floor, stopping at each floor to look around.  Take your time and don’t be afraid to talk with the sales people.  Just keep your jaw from dropping at the sight of some of the jewelry, china, watches….

2.      S & P Luncheonette, 5th Ave between 22 and 23.  A classic luncheonette, a real NYC gem.  Order a tuna melt and an egg cream.  One of the best 100 restaurants per the NY Times.

3.      Little Island.  Try to see one of the free shows or just go down and wander around this lush, beautiful and fun place. Then eat at Pier 57.

Enjoy!

Jenny

This is what I'm talking about! I will try not to clutch my not Tiffany's pearls when I visit lol. I might have to extend my trip to fit everything in. Thank you so much!

don't miss Katz's Deli on Houston St. (pronounced HOW-ston, NOT HYOUston).
Best ever. And big enough for two.

Woah you're not joking! This is a platter, but a good. looking one.

I haven’t gotten here but I’m dying to see it. —. The legendary Waldorf-Astoria Hotel just re-opened after an 8-year renovation.  They say it's spectacular, the pictures of it are breathtaking and you can see it all in less than half an hour, or linger there forever.  (hint, hint...lol)

Word on the street is that the Waldorf-Astoria is jacked up with spyware.  I wouldn’t go there if I were doing anything illicit. I don’t know if it’s true, but just sharing what I’ve heard.

Just a general reminder: There are cameras EVERYWHERE. Control yourself in hotel elevators because you're on video. (Elevator video has been used to solve crimes.) Control yourself in public nooks and crannies because there are probably cameras picking up all the angles.  The potted plant might even have a camera hidden in it!
.
There are cameras with street views all over the place, not just ATMs. Banks, shops, office buildings not only have cameras recording their interior spaces but have cameras recording car and people traffic outside their real estate. Such public-facing private video has helped to solve a variety of crimes.

I would believe it, I would assume they have to know that people are going to try it. It wasn't my first time dealing with it, but the small lobbies that most hotels seem to have and elevator placement always annoy me so bad for this reason.

Check the Oyster Bar on the lower level of Grand Central Terminal.  They generally have a couple dozen varieties of fresh oysters, clam chowder and a lot of other fish specialties.  Best bet is to sit at the big counter and order four to six oysters and a clam chowder.  The waiter or waitress will help you choose if you need it.

Great place for Oyster Stew, cooking right at the bar using their steaming machines.

Oooh I've bever had oyster stew. And that's not too far away from me.

The stew or the pan roast, which is like a milky stew. It's lots of fun to watch them make.  Lots to see in that neighborhood. PM me if you want more.

Thank you so much to everyone who gave helpful recommendations. Some of them caused me explore a different part of the city than expected. Every corner really seems to be different than the last. At this moment, I'm not sure when, but I cannot wait to return!
