Ladies:) The Sunday Donut Girls you see here were not the first Donut Girls:0 Way back around WW1 it all started:) You did not really think they started here with our TER bakers did you?? Not that our own bakers are not wonderful:) Thanks guys:)
The Slavation Army was the first followed by the Red Cross let's not forget the girls of the USO as well as the silver screen:)AND Pin Ups that helped the troops remember what they were fighting for:)
I have put together a bunch of donuts from then to now as a thank you to all the boys who baked and served. Two days ago was National DOnut Day , today is the anniversary of Normandy :) Enjoy,Kendall

Most people do not realize how close we came to defeat on D-Day...

The weather was atrocious, Ike (Eisenhower) ordered the landing anyway, it occurred between storms..... there were major communications breakdowns between the landing forces and HQ's..... It was the uncommon valor, tenacity, an ingenuity of the men on the beach who overcame all against extraordinary odds and pulled off the greatest amphibious assault in history. Thank God Hitler slept late and his staff was afraid to wake him.

Let's not forget the heroism of the "Screaming Eagles" airborne troopers who jumped into France the night before in order to disrupt German communications and coordination. ...... the invasion actually began on June 5th, 1944.

Not only did Hitler sleep in, he also was convinced the real landing would come at Pas De Calais. That D-Day wasn't the main invasion.
He couldn't fathom that Patton really was being punished for slapping that kid.
