Gonna make me think????red_smile

For me it is a quenching of self denial induced thirst. Does that help or not? I'm not sure but I know I feel better and hopeful. I've awakened something in me that in a great many ways I had forgotten, repressed, and shelved due to the conditions and responsibilities of my life. I’ve compromised unwisely much to my emotional detriment out of fear of being alone. I've moved to fast; chasing material wealth and stature far too tenaciously only to be left with a sense of “now what?”

In pursuit of what I've been conditioned to value I’ve come to the realization that I have lost sight of what is important for me and am only gaining clarity in that regard now. I have others who depend on me therefore my self-realization has to be secondary until such a time they're capable of independence.

The enlightenment is the clarity in knowing what I have been missing regarding what I truly desire intimately.

My perspective has changed in the sense that I now know that for some moments I can be truly comfortable and free. I can accept who I am, be accepted for who I am; while honestly expressing and sharing mutually given pleasure and appreciation with a certain special somebody.

That is a treasure beyond value. One that for me is reverential.

;)

I see a tremendous number of provider ads and thoght it wuold be nice to have a bit of discussion . So I have a few questions .Why not humor me?:)

How do you feel the hobby has helped you to live a little more or has it?

Has the sexual underworld we play in been enlightening to you? How?

Has the exploration of your sexuality caused you to change how you view sex or yourself ?

                                                                           Thank you for your participation,
                                                                                                                  Lianna Gerrit

I must say that I thought I would explore more yet that hasn't happened. Is it me? Probably is. I think that I need to find someone who has ventured into their sexuality a bit more than I have and show me the way. Otherwise I am just stuck in the same sexual rut. I must say that I am not sure how to go about it.

I did read a review recently that was submitted, and I must say that is not such a bad way to start. I have attached a link to it.

There are some providers that I have been meaning to see and yet haven't, that might take me to another level. There aren't that many or so I think.

1) Has the hobby helped me to live better?  The answer would have to be yes.  I've developed friendships with a few of the ladies I've met, and it's always fun to see and play with them again.  I've also hit the road for faraway places with hobbying in mind on a number of occasions...all I can say is that vacations are even more fun now!

2) Has it enlightened me?  See above.

3) My views on sexuality?  I always had an open view on this...what happens behind closed doors between consenting adults is no one else's business except the participants.  That hasn't changed.  The good thing about the hobby is that it given me the opportunity to do things behind those closed doors that I was never able to experience as a civilian.  So, overall, hobbying has been a positive experience.  Who knew that night back in 2004 that led to my discovery of TER and this world would have such a far lasting effect?

Rock on, babe!

...post this on the General Board.  That's where most posts like this go and where there are more people to respond to them.  Good luck!

I find the general board to be far from home and I am from New York..and thank you, lol funny guy, it's just ...I make my own luck but thank you very much  ..Lianna

Yes to all ?'s & it effects my everyday life, but not at home.  I am more sexually aware than the average Bear!  I believe the underground world is exclusive & I LOVE being apart of this fantastic adult playground!

Great topic Ms. Lady I enjoy more intimate topics that equally pertain to both parties involved in our hobby. Have a great weekend every1!

A bad marriage experience pretty much shut me down both emotionally & socially. I credit the first lady I saw in this lifestyle as helping me find my way out of the fog.

Has the sexual underworld we play in been enlightening to you? How?
I have lived on the perimeter for decades - therefore, I found this lifestyle very familiar. There are all sorts of reasons one learns to convey a message without saying anything.

Has the exploration of your sexuality caused you to change how you view sex or yourself ?
Absolutely! I have never seen myself as a sexual person, but now have confidence in my sexuality. Whether it's reality or delusion is another matter...

Well, I don't profess to know about enlightenment, but my wallet may be a bit "enlightenend"

In my case the hobby has been a very positive addition to my life.

As to your first question, my time with the beautiful and talented ladies I have been with almost always gives me joy;  that's the whole point.  Sexual satisfaction by its nature gives one a better outlook on life, and where better to obtain such satisfaction.  The civilian world does not provide many paths to sexual satisfaction, as relationships contain a vast variety of elements, sex being a small part.  Indeed, both sexes spend such enormous amounts of enegy seeking sex, and almost invariably end in a relationship where the sexual aspects are limited, and in many cases ultimately frustrating for both parties.  I believe I am a better, happier and more productive person because I am not beset by sexual frustration, and ultimately that benefits me, and all those around me.

As to your second question, the modern world lacks dark corners, and time spent in dark corners is necessary to fully actualize a human being.  Abe Lincoln said he would never trust a man without a vice.  In our time, where everything is out in the open and everything is clean and shiny, we have no opportunity to explore, once again paraphrasing Lincoln, the darker angles of our nature.    By having a part of our lives which is completely private (and this is assuming you guys are able to keep your mouths shut about your exploits), we are given an opportunity for repose and reflection that our daily lives does not provide.  I think it is not only enlightening, but healthy.  Certainly for those of us with high stress lives, the ability to step into another life for a brief moment makes that stress much more bearable.

As to your last question, it is not so much a question of change, as it is a question of giving confidence in ourselves.  The hobby provides us with confirmation that we are able to give and receive pleasure, and communicate on a more primal level.  Again, these are sadly opportunities not always possible in the civilian world.   It may be particularly lucky in that most of the providers I have encountered have been warm, generous, intellegent and entertaining companions, but from many of the comments I have read on the boards, I don't think I am unique in such experiences.
