If  the Nassau County District Attorney  publicized the names and photos of 104 men accused of soliciting prostitutes to shame them into never doing it again, she may find she's caused the opposite. The only advantage of having everyone from your priest to your fourth-grade teacher call you "Hooker Lovin' Harry" is that any future dalliances with prostitutes won't hurt your reputation a bit.  
To be fair, that mostly wasn't her goal. The hope is that by shaming these men, she can make other fellows think twice before clicking over to www.moneyforahoney.com.But it seems like if it was possible to really curb prostitution, someone in, oh, the entire span of history would've stumbled onto it before now.
Demand creates supply, always. Laws and their enforcement can increase the price of drugs and prostitutes and illegal gambling, or the hassle of procuring them, but they cannot change the inexorable rule. Demand for illicit sex and drugs and gambling is so strong that these may be the last consumer products in America that thrive without really being advertised. Vice, unlike exercise bikes, face cream and a collection of power ballads from the 1980s, sells itself.
The District Attorney is right about one thing. Prostitution creates serious societal ills. Women and children are abused and enslaved. But the most solvable ills that come with vice are often caused more by their illegality than by their existence.
A prostitute working in a legal and licensed business, afforded the same police protection as an employee in any other legitimate business, is a lot less likely to be beaten by a john or pimp, held captive against her will or denied wages. Recreational drugs, if legal, would be sold not by armed thugs but by retail establishments. That wouldn't stop overdoses, but it would put a brake on financially motivated drive-by shootings and gang wars. Anyone who has gambled in both legal and illegal casinos can tell you the legal ones are safer and more on the up-and-up than the underground variety.
Beyond that, there is the bedrock reality of what just governments should be empowered to do. Ideally, they protect us from others, not from our own desires. If people choose to work as prostitutes (assuming the choice is freely made), or avail themselves of prostitutes, or bet on the roll of the dice, or snort coke and go on a talking jag about this amazing new album they bought chock full of sweet '80s power ballads, that is their right.
So 104 people got embarrassed and somewhere, in some other sting, someone got nailed using drugs or betting on a football game. The arrests had no meaningful effect on the demand for such experiences, and therefore they won't have any meaningful effect on the supply of such services.
If the people, the taxpayers, the voters, your friends and neighbors and perhaps you yourself didn't demand access to prostitution and every other form of vice, such things wouldn't exist. Supplying such needs is a job, and such jobs don't go undone. Unfortunately, attempting to stymie such demands is a job, too. It's just not an effective one, or in a free society, an appropriate one

was one of the Johns that got caught. I didn't want to field a million questions on how where what who why. I will be brief as I try not to relive the embarrassment of the situation.

I go to the precinct and get the book thrown at me. Have to call my best friend to bail me out.

So far I have racked up $3800 IN LEGAL FEES. Because I am a professional, and the lawyer knows it, it is certainly costing me more. I have been told the charges will be brought down to some BS community service and a probation period. I am on edge though with my face being out there and my employer finding out. Just hoping someone I work with does not do too much reading or I will certainly lose my job. Luckily, no family to embarrass, but all of my friends now know, as do there wives.

So what have we learned today?? Don't EVER EVER mention any sex act. She fucking tricked me good. Be WARNED......make sure you got the legal fees ahead of time in event you get caught.....because it will be the most expensive piece of ass you ever tried paying for.

Has this stopped me? NOPE.....I am doing the AMP scene locally. hint hint.......you figure it out....I had too the hard way.

She is interfering with an important natural function of survival and charity. Many ladies provide service to survive and put food on table and pay for shelter for themselves and family. Karma has a way of payback.

Last month Polk County in FL did a backpage sting and arrested over 90 men, and in the media they said that they were "launching an investigation into backpage".  All the Long Island arrests were all from backpage.   Mark by words that they be more attempts in shutting down BP.   Tennessee recently passed a law outlawing escort ads, but since BP has tons of money they hired an attorney and a federal judge ruled this new law unconstitutional.

The US spends 250 million each year  for "PUBLIC AWARENESS about human trafficking, and of course they misinform the public.  We have HATERS like Dr Melissa Farely who helped create hysteria in the media telling American that hundreds of thousands of our teens were being exploited.  The truth is last year the US only had 347 victims.  Now Dr Farely has complaints filed against her by her own colleagues, yet she still gets 30% of her annual funding from the justice dept.  The anti trafficking groups have custody of the narrative in the media, and our voices have been censored for too long.

Coyote has now teamed up with ESPLERP.   Unlike BP we don't have tons of money so the only way we are going to succeed is if the members of the adult community donate to the legal defense, which is tax deductible, as we are a 501 c 3.   We have already had a couple thousand dollars anonymous donations.

In closing, to all the men arrested in Long Island, I feel for you.  There is a sense of EMPOWERMENT that comes with being outed.  (I know this from personal experience).  I would never wish this on anyone, but this is what has given me the courage to become an activist and demand change and stand up for the sex workers and our clients.

I once saw a quick item that in Chicago, an escort was more likely to sleep with a cop than be busted by one. All of us know girls with cops and ex cops as clients. Let he who is without sin....

In some states it is legal for the cops to have sex with the escort and then arrest her.   They do not want to admit that they can't police even 1% of the sex indsutry on a good day, and criminalization only gives bad cops + predators access to rape, rob, exploit, threaten, and murder escorts.  It also does nothing to even reduce prostitution, so prostitution will still occur it''s just a matter of what circumstances it takes place under.

I read an article recently that said in FL the cops hang out in night clubs with drugs and when the girls kind of implies she will hoook up just to party they arrest her for prostitution. These girls aren't even escorts, they are just out patying.  It seems like being a vice cop is about the same thing as being a predator. It must be there DREAM JOB, to get paid and then get tax dollars to be used for them to go have sex with escorts.

Its time for the adult community to step up.....
