i do it because most of the days in our lives pass without us noticing.  a month from now, i'll probably remember no detail about today--whom i spoke to, what i ate for breakfast, what errand i had to run on the way home from work.  but in the short time i've been in this "hobby," i've had some singular experiences that i couldn't possibly forget.  moments that will stand out a lifetime from now.  it's a weird kind of intimacy you get with a provider--there are parameters and yea it's staged and "fake" in some ways.  but in other ways, because of the parameters, it's almost a deeper kind of intimacy, where all the inhibitions are lowered and the expectations are up front and reasonable.

You'd think that after many years in the business that meeting a stranger would become second nature. Not so. I still get nervous every single time I'm preparing to meet someone I've never seen before. That's part of the rush for me. When time is up and I'm on my way out I get a second rush.
