Has any on noticed the escalating prices of touring providers?

It just seems that prices seem to be going up and I have found that that amount one pays has nothing to do with quality of the session.

No it has more to do with what they perceive they can get. It's called supply and demand. They will command whatever the public is willing to pay. Their donations are rising at a much higher rate than inflation and at a higher rate than most clients' paychecks.  The only way to minimize this is to stop paying these inflated prices, which will increase their idle time and encourage them to decrease prices to a more reasonable and fair level. All clients should seriously consider doing this or most will soon be priced out of the market.

I was just thinking the same thing. So many girls are asking 500 p/h or even much higher. I think that alot of girls that are not from here do not realise that many of us regular NY providers are lowering our rates, or giving incentive and specials because we know what the economy is like here.

Lets face it SOMEONE has got to be paying those rates or they wouldn't have them. At real high rates all you need is 2 -3 guys per week and thats more than alot of people make per week after taxes!

IMO these days $250 is a reasonable rate, so is $3oo providing you have a good rep and provide services that make it worth it.

just my 2 cents

Thank you for the feedback... I'm coming to town on the second of July and found this an interesting thread.

When touring, you do need to try to recoup the travel expenses, incall expense (if provided), AND to make your needed income... so it makes sense that a lady would raise her donation.

I have a $50 premium on my standard rates... this would not cover my expenses, rather barely offset them.  I'm ok with that, since I am soooo excited to be coming back to NYC!

When speaking about those who are top bracket on tour, are they top bracket back home as well?  Perhaps they are target marketing to those with excessive disposable incomes?

Anyone with inflated rates is NOT trying to find a large client base.  My best to them and their friends.

I was told by a provider that when another provider visits NYC she see's it as a chance to make a killing. therefor she raises her rates. They think that NYers have tons of money and will pay more than other places they goes to.

Just my two cents.

Do you think us guys care that you have extra travel expenses and therefore need to charge a $50 premium? That's like saying
a person WILL pay more just because YOUR COST OF GOODS IS HIGHER? Nonsense.

My comments may be a little off topic but I think it's worth saying.

I have noticed that rates have risen in general (espcially with touring folks) much quicker than I thought they would.  This is not the first time someone has mentioned the topic to me (not on a Board but in private conversation).

The jump in prices has been dramatic and, in some cases, exponential.

To give you some background...When I first started hobbying (1992) the price in NYC was $ (average)/hour.  It jumped in several spurts as follows:  $.2, $.5/$.6, $.8, $$, $$.5 and now $$$.  Obviously, you can more or less but this seems to be about average for a typical hobbyist (this was confirmed by others to me).

I know many of you will say it has been a long time since then (which it has,no doubt), but the sentiment is there.

I am certainly not trying to tell the ladies what to charge or influence in any way.  This is just an observation and the economic reality is that it does decrease the amount of playtime one has.

As the old adage says, if you can't afford it don't play.

you won't, others will.  (shrug)  Even with the added $50, my times a bargain.
; )

We do routinely pay more when the cost of goods is higher... not just ladies who offer incall, but the brand of coffee we prefer, the make/model of car... often goods are priced formulaically off the base of the cost of the goods to produce.

Other examples are lawn services where they add products vs. just mowing, getting a permanent or dye job vs. a style-cut, etc.

It's not as unreasonable as you make it sound.

Unfortunately, those of us traveling from out west must usually charge extra (in my case, $400 rather than $350) to help recoup our travel expenses, which are considerable. (Upscale Manhattan hotel rates are stratospheric.)

It would be foolish to come here to lose money, right?

Think of it as a "premium" for the chance for some variety. If no one paid the premium, then you'd have very few visiting ladies. Perhaps most of you wouldn't care, but I think some of you really like variety and a change of scenery. :)

hotel prices become much more reasonable if you use hotels.com are other such booking mechanism.
Same goes for airfare.
