I’m curious how many people here (both clients and providers) use Facebook for hobbying? On the provider side, obviously you use your “professional” name and identity. Clients, I imagine, register under an alias. I’m more curious how you use it, in the sense of whether you see it as just another avenue for free advertising, or whether you actually engage in online conversation with your “friends,” who I assume are mostly clients and potential clients. Obviously, using Facebook for marketing is a bit paradoxical in a business in which most service providers are trying to be as invisible as possible

Some providers have been using Twitter to great effect, although I imagine that it takes a lot of time and effort to keep a Twitter feed regularly engaged.

Back in the day, quite a few providers had MySpace profiles, but I never completely understood if it was at all useful, and if so, how.

More to the point, if you do use Facebook, have you found it to be a useful hobbying tool?
