dont really look at facebook very often, perhaps once a month if that. I accepted a provider as a facebook friend only to realize her avatar pic was of her stark nekkad spread eagle. Thankfully I did see it before any of my friends or g/f did. Would have had some serious 'splaining to do
FB likes to make connections between friends, and I'm a little bit paraniod that they would connect my personal account with my professional one via IP address. Social Networks make the world a MUCH smaller place, increasing the chances of compromising our identity--Remember "7 degrees of Kevin Bacon"? Its more like 5 and dwindling.
I have a colleague on Wall Street who has a different email address for another business he has. Recently Facebook has been suggesting more friends I may know, and I think it has based some of them on email addresses in my email account.
Lo and behold...one day I get a suggestion to friend a guy whose name looks somewhat familiar. Turns out the bonehead used that secondary email address my colleague uses to fuck around to set up a Facebook account.
Like a good neighbor, I mentioned it to him to make sure he didn't blow himself up, but it is a dangerous thing, that Facebook.
Keep it to email, TER, and the like. Twitter I'm still figuring out, but it's easy to set up a hobbying Twitter account and to link it to the provider Twitter accounts.
