If people would just use condoms this wouldn't be happening.  Lots of those men probably weren't openly bisexual but rather men who identify as straight but secretly have sex with men on the side.  They of course often don't use condoms because that would require admitting to themselves what they are doing.  Then of course they are not using condoms with their girlfriends because they are pretending to be monogamous while secretly having unprotected sex on the side.

I have always used condoms with everyone, including my long-term boyfriends, and plan to keep it that way.  Not worth risking my health on someone else's honesty.  I can't think of anyone who I would trust with my life in that way.  Gay, straight, bisexual, pansexual, whatever.  But then again when I came of age, I learned to use condoms and sexualized them from a young age.  I think they're hot.  It makes me feel safe.  I guess I'm lucky in that regard, lucky to have learned that young and always played that way.  It has kept me safe despite my promiscuous nature.  :)

The Centers for Disease Control report that men who engage in sex both with men and women can acquire HIV from a male partner and then transmit the virus to female partners.Women who had unprotected sex with bisexual partners accounted for most of the new female HIV cases in the city last year,  according to a new Health Department study.

The NYC Health Department study found that 1.578 people died from AIDS in the city in 2012, down from 1,699 in 2011. Men still account for 8 in 10 of the new cases in the city, mostly transmitted through unprotected gay sex. In total, there were 3,341 new cases of HIV and 1,889 full blown AIDS cases, down from 3,404 HIV and 2,208 AIDS in 2011. There are 114,926 people living here with HIV/AIDS.
