This might be of interest to NYC and Nassau co guys:

I purchased a new car 2 years ago, drove it right out of the show room. Then I tried to insure it under my name. The insurance back then was like 9,000. per year. Well the first year I had the car I had 3 back to back accidents and I freely admit to having a lead foot and a slew of tickets back from my youth when I was a bit of a hell raiser and just didn't care. (but none of them were my fault I SWEAR!, well not all of them lol) Well next thing I know my car insurance is like 10-12 K per year, like 800 per month. So I decided to take the car off the road and park it in my driveway with no plates at least until I don't need full coverage (I financed the car and still owe half) or I make that move to Fla where insurance is cheap.  In the mean time I cut back on my availability because I didn't have that big payment any longer plus I don't do public transportation (don't know how, don't want to know how either!) and I used my friends car for local stuff around Brooklyn.

Well I've decided that I'm tired of borrowing my friends car for local stuff,  taking cabs, and paying drivers to drive me to my calls, especially when I have a 2 year old car in my driveway with 1200 miles on it!. If I have someone in LI or NYC or elsewhere that wants to see me I needed to put a minimum of several hours just because the carfare alone costs me like $100!

So bottom line guys, I insured my car yesterday (except NOW it's 14,000 per year , yup you read that right!) and am getting my plates today (I rented a car for the week) and by Monday I'll be fully mobile in my own car and in the meantime I have a rental  and I'll be able to entertain 60-90 min plus appointments in NYC, Nassau and elsewhere. (monthly Suffolk co trips still stay the same) Plus I might decide to do a trip to NYC after my Suffolk trip next week. (Hey I got to pay this premium somehow right? lol)

I've discussed this with several of you pm and I promised I'd make a post when I'm able to start doing visits in NYC that don't have to be several hours. Well the time is now, my NYC horny men!
As far as Nassau Co guys, the same holds true for you. Rather than doing a trip to Nassau, like I do in suffolk I think I'll just start accepting 60-90 min (minimum) outcall (your home, hotel, or office) appointments.
My donation for those not on my mailing list is $$$ p/h, those on my list it's $$$ 90 mins.

I plan on having my webguy adjust some things such as my minimum time required to travel to NYC and LI. My Suffolk monthly incall trips stay the same. But hey you guys heard it here first and I'd be happy to make visits to anyone in NYC, or Nassau.

Good luck with your new driving ventures and mobile appointments!

I'm too much of an independent person (not just an indie in my business life lol!) to depend on others. I always said if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. I guess thats why I went from a Madam to an indie, I got tired of girls not doing it right lol. What bugs me is that the monthly payment is more than my house rental, not to mention almost twice what my morgage will be when I move to Fla. But hey a gals gotta do what a gals gotta do! Plus when I do move it will be as if I have a clean driving slate, or so the insurance broker told me!

Thing is when I first got the car I had a gentlemen that I saw weekly and we had gotten very close. He offered to co-sign for the car with me, but I told the dealership to try my name only first and I got approved on my own. If I was less of a person I'd had just let them put him as a co-signer but thats not my stillo. Funny thing is ever since I told him I didn't need him as a co-signer he stopped calling me! I thought he'd be happy and it would show him that its not all about the benjamins, who knows maybe I insulted him by turning down his generosity. Hey if that was the case I'd be driving a spyder (love those cars!) instead of a Honda with a 5 speed on the floor!
I know he used to peruse these boards every now and then and if he happens to read this I'd love to hear from him again just to see how life is treating him these days!

Having been in a car with Samantha,  and thanked every god that is known to mankind that we made it to our destination alive, all I can say is..

If you see a blonde with big tits zooming down the Van Wyck... GTFO of her way..

I will NEVER complain about my $900 annual car insurance bill ever again....

Wow,  Please tell me that you drive a Honda NSX or that you've been sued for six figures or more to justify that kind of bill....

With that much money it is cheaper to take taxis everywhere....

Vanessa: When I made this post I had a vision of you driving with me with your eyes closed lol

People used to say driving with me was like being in a video game with lights shooting past you at great speed lol.

You and everyone in NY will be happy to know that I have toned down my driving dramatically! I even wear my seatbelt and insist that my passsengers do. On a serious not, I'm very fortunate I never hurt myself or anyone else or this would not be funny by far. The only thing I ever damaged was my own car and boy did I get that insurance money back in the long run! lol

Bob I have a regular little 2 door honda celica 2002. Thing that cause me problems was back in my "I don't give a "f" youth" I got many tickets and never paid them and then when my licence was suspended I didn't do nothing about it. So 5 years ago when I wanted to get myself totally legit , and had also matured enough to know that this could and will affect me for the rest of my life I paid all the tickets in full, 11 years later mind you.

Problem is the points go on when you pay the fine. So since I just paid them like 5-6  years ago it still looks like it was pretty recent. Also because I let my licence expire for such a long time (once upon a time I was a very irresponsible little girl, now I'm just the opposite!) It appears to them as if I'm a brand new driver, an assigned risk or something. Put all this stuff together and you got me paying 1400 per month for my car insurance.  I use examples like this when I try and teach my child that everything you do in life has consequences!

Even with the excess money this is going to cost me ($2000 down payment yesterday alone! lol)

At first I thought taxis would be cheaper , but not when I'm being asked to come into NYC or Long Island a few times a week. Plus I admit it I'm a bit of a promadonna (w/o the attitude though!) and I prefer to just drive my own darn car!

When I lived in the city I couldn't wait to sell my car.
I hated the traffic, the insane insurance and not mention the outrageous garage fee but again what I hated most was the traffic.

Two hours to go anywhere..........EEERRRRRRR

AH Long Island........rent free garage, a bit lower insurance and I can jump in my car and drive it instead of waiting and waiting and waiting to get to the next light........

Congratulations on your mobility!

Make sure to have your insurance bid on... here, that would not be your rate unless you had a DWI.  It is amazing the different rates you will see when you shop around.

Your public transit there is wonderful, so perhaps if the insurance payments overwhelm you you might reconsider... In Seattle, ours is a money-pit and a joke.

Damn! $14,000 a year for car insurance.
Good Luck with the car!
