Does anyone have any experience with the BDSM or dungeon scene here in NYC? I did some searching on this board and the BDSM board but so far all I have found is more along the lines of individuals ladies posting. I am an absolute rookie with this stuff.

Commercial dungeons vary in turn over rate of established Dominatrices vs. beginners that are learning as they go along under the study of a more established one. Generally speaking when you visit one, unless you already know which Domme you are looking to see, the Head Mistress will assess your interests, then parade the available Dominas into a room where you can determine who best fits your needs/ level of experience. Depending on how busy/ large the space is, you may hear other sessions in other rooms... some people love hearing the screams & pleas of others as it lends to their fantasy. Others find it distracting. Pandora's Box is a good starting point for many as it features 7 fantasy rooms including a classroom, medical room, parlour, wrestling room and 3 dungeons for your enjoyment. There are other spaces in the city as well with a similar feel to them.

Often, independent Dommes will rent from local commercial spaces or have their own spaces to play in... others may session in hotels or residences for a more personal/ lifestyle feel to it. I have my own private dungeon in Brooklyn and rent from commercial dungeons in Manhattan. Your best best is to find someone that is experienced in your particular kink and make the location a secondary priority. Safety first... always!
