I think the word GFE is being used very loosely lately. It used to describe an exceptional encounter where everything goes so well that you truly forget you are with a provider.

It seems though that lately almost anything that is better than an average or above average encounter is described as gfe. Not to mention all these provider ads that advertise for it as if it means anything any more. And then we see all these different degrees of GFE like totally gfe, semi gfe, good gfe (as if there could be a bad gfe).

I think it is time to retire of phase out that term.

You're right on!  Who are we kidding?  A GFE is an encounter that takes place with no money exchanging hands.  Some hookers  are obviously better than others.  A few providers are actually sweet and adorable, but they are NOT girl friends in the normal sense of the word.  Girl friends don't coldly take your money for sex.  At the same time, seeing a hooker can many times be cheaper than a girl friend!

It's been discussed quite a lot.  If anyone still wants to discuss it, my guess is that's the best place for it.

I think that Hoot's suggestion is well warranted.  GoB will get much more mileage with such a question if it was posted there, and the suggestion is legitimate.  However, you do live up to your handle.

I still think that it does.  Of course everyone's definition is different, and it's certainly debateable whether any paid experience can be called "Girlfriend Experience", jokes about cost aside.  Be that as it may, I have had numerous "dates" within the past few months that I would classify that way.

I think the big confusion, especially in provider ads, is that the physical acts associated with "GFE", like DFK, allow them to advertise as such, but that emotional "I forgot it was a service" attitude is what's missing in many encounters.  This can be for many different reasons, ranging from the provider and client simply didn't click just right, to the provider having no clue as to what a GFE is.  Or maybe she's a lousy actress.

A hobbyist friend of mine, after being verified by a new provider he wants to see, actually, and in no uncertain terms, spells out exactly what his expectations are, and then asks the provider if she is capable of providing those services on his terms.  If not, he doesn't see them.  Likewise if she doesn't come across right on the phone.

I just do my TER homework, look at many reviews, check for consistency of a provider, then look at the reviewer's history for consistency, and also to see if they had seen any providers I've seen, so I can compare experiences up close.  Sometimes it's alot of work, but it also can be fun.

I'm sorry this is long, but sometimes I ramble.  I hope that you can find that elusive GFE.

The point was that GoB's question was already posted on the NY board.  If HootOwl is not interested in dealing with the subject, just leave it alone and go on to the next thing - no need to make a comment giving directions on where to post questions!  The board is for everyone to post as they please.  I've seen much worse than GoB's inquiry.  Furthermore, as can be seen, there is some interest in GoB's question.  And yes, I hope to live up to my handle.

For the record, I think "nameless" got it right.

Where this should be discussed aside (I personally could care less), when I think GFE it has to do with the things that take place between the two people.  GFE should include DFK, BBBJ and a "connection" (whatever the hell that means).  It should be someone that shows an interest in you (or at least feigns it).

I also check the reviews for what I am looking for and tend to book appointments with folks that meet my needs.
