Did anyone get impacted by the huge rainfall yesterday?

I was on my way to NYC yesterday, but rain merely a pain coming down from Boston. Arrived hours late but safely.

But I read Long Island got record breaking precipitation. Islip got dumped on - sky squirted over a foot of rain in one day. And Long Island Expressway had sections closed down.

Anyone with an appointment scheduled get hit

I live near Riverhead and the rain sounded like someone was throwing rocks on my roof...and the rain was so loud, I could barely hear my music playing on my laptop :-(

Certain LIRR lines had suspensions on part of their routes or long delays. I stayed indoors until the afternoon and went about my business.
