Criticizing aliases is idiotic.

Unless it's the goal of the Moderator to have this discussion board resemble a graffiti-scrawled ghetto wall, you should eliminate multiple aliases. I would think that you would want to have a discussion board which more closely resembled a cocktail party. If you refused to allow multiple aliases, we could judge the worth of a poster's message by seeing how many reviews they had, who they reviewed, and whether or not we agreed with their tastes in providers.

One-Post-Anonymous-Posters are the bane of this board.  They literally are cluttering up the discussion.  They successfully have driven off the reviewers with multiple reviews--HoundDog, Military, etc.--from this Board. One Post Anonymous Posters are like wanker wannabe's who are crowding out the real players. And real players are drifting from this Board.

One alias can be used effectively.   I use it to mask--yes mask--my true identity or the identity of a provider when what I have to say is extremely personal about me or her.   Otherwise, I don't use an alias, and I don't think others should either. But there is no way to control those who abuse the anonymity.

I see no role for multiple aliases, except trouble-making, and especially to make it appear that several people are stating a point of view when it is really only one person.

i agree with the banning alias's.
Bigdoggie posts your alias next to your member screen. As a result there seems to be little hostility or vulgarity on that board.. All said and done letting everyone see your screen name posted next to your alias's may make hostile topics and nasty attacks less likley...And keep this board more peaceful.and the TER staff less busey moderating.....only my 2 cents..
have a good one to all....

below this is one harming the board. For the life of me, I can't understand the OBSESSION people have with the now closed agency and its underhanded owner.

hope you will support the elimination of multiple aliases. Also, just as no one wants to defecate in a urine and fecal covered bathroom, no one wants to post messages or have a conversation splattered with the foul screen-names and postings that have crept up recently.  Granted, some men have a "playing with feces" fascination, but most stop it past two years of age.

Why did you use an alias and such a noxious one as well?

Why did you want to stop discussion of NYConfidential?  Now that I kept the discussion open long enough for anyone with anything material to post---like NYConfidential defauded its customers by phony charges on their credit cards--I agree, let the matter drop; except the issue about complicity between TER, TER Moderators, TER Posters and NYConfidential. That issue is worth discussing, if anyone has anything new to say. I certainly don't.

Does anyone really beleive NYCON had pages of 10/10's for Natalia. LETS VOTE ON IT..I know this for a fact is BS..from certain members. And many of the girls worked for many agencies and never scored the NYCON 10/10's.Yes i worked with many of these girls in the past.. And they were no better than the next.. Only the false marketing and hype was better. And the lower review ratings didnt make the board  as many members have posted in recent days.
I agree this board is more active and fun. But the other board allows more honest and free posts. And if things dont change here i see many members defecting .. I see many e-mails telling me this ..
As you see this board has gone nuts with the new freedom to actually speak their mind freely over the NYCON  issue..
Everone feels  cheated by the TER Staff and that they had something to do with NYCON.
This i feel is the main issue we cant get over. Not Jason 's BS life..  trust and the TER...
Both boards have strong points and both in different areas...

Please beg the administration of TER to set up a Chat were this can be settled once and for all, you should have some sway with the Admin. Usernames will display and chatters will be tied to what they write. I am sick and tired of hypocrits like Captyve and his ilk using the board for their narrow minded purposes then crying foul when they are hammered. Let's get this thing to Chat were the gloves can come off without other people who use this board right being impacted by the combatants.

It's too bad when people use this Discussion Board as a platform for their own personality deficiencies.  TER provides a valuable service for "The Hobby", and it ruins it for everyone if any part of TER is filled with meaningless crap.

TER is a terrific guide. It should be a true reflection of personal experience, and a major resource to maximize dollars and time in this competitive world.

define your opinions of all aliases. Some people need it, if not to hide, just to be able to give insight of truthful experiences without any worries.

Tossing strong opinions aroind and using bathroom humor with an alias is High School, and not what this board was intended for. There is a place for an alias, but those that abuse the privelege should be banned.

Aliase  is a license to be a Dick. It gives people the opportunity to, in their mind say something for which they arent held accountable for. On one thread the guys your  best friend and on anther using an aliase hes killimg you!
World Class and buddym are right , banning them would go along way to bring civility back.

I am sick and tired of Board posters who cop an attitude against those who "hide behind an alias," as if alias postings were somehow less reliable.  That's just stupid.  You can use the same user name to review and to post, and tell lies all day long in both.  There's nothing whatsoever about connecting the two that assures any kind of reliability.  Wake up, your reviewer name is a made-up name!  Besides, this Board is about HOBBYING, not Sunday School!

I see no point to aliases and have never used one.  If I want my opinion to be taken seriously by other members, then I want people to know that I have 28 reviews posted (soon to be 29) and have been hobbying on and off for 15 years.  None of that necessarily makes me God's gift to members or inherently right about anything; but it does provide some basis for others to judge my credibility.  So when I post on this Board (and I do so far less frequently than many others), I want members to be able to read my reviews and judge the merit of my post in light of my reviews and past experiences.  In turn, I want to be able to judge other members' posts on the same basis.  Aliases prevent me from doing so and should be banned.

Whether or not banning aliases will bring a halt to vitriolic exchanges between members, I have no way of predicting.  However, if aliases are banned, we will at least be able to take each member's posts into account when we read that member's reviews and vice-versa.

Even though I believe aliases should be banned, I will not attack a member merely because that person chose to post under an alias -- as currently allowed by TER.  Too much space is wasted with ad hominem attacks based primarily on the fact that the poster utilized an alias.  Such attacks provide no useful information and add nothing of value to this Board.

Just had to jump into this one...;)

You have to realize if TER eliminated the ALIAS feature, anyone could create the same results just by creating multiple accounts. At least when people post in an ALIAS moderators are able to see their actual username. There are some unwritten rules at TER regarding the ALIAS feature that GND instructs moderators to follow. For instance, posters are not allowed to abuse the ALIAS feature by talking to themselves in a thread. Providers are not allowed to use an ALIAS to attack another provider and so forth. (Oops, they're not unwritten anymore. ;)

You raise the issue of TBD's software using a cookie to show if you post under multiple screen names. If one understands how a cookie works, that is easily defeated.

I don't like the ALIAS feature but there is one compelling reason why I think it should exist. It allows providers to say things freely is a discussion which they may fear to say under their recognized username for fear of potentially antagonizing gentleman.

Just MHO,

thirsty
