I have started to like Hotels Tonight app. Once you become a member you can send a link to other friends where they can get $25 off their first booking. And when they do, you will also get $25 off a booking. I've sent it to two friends so I've got a $50 off my nex booking, woo hoo! Also, Priceline express deals, Hotwire, hotels.com.
I've used it once, fairly straight forward, hotel had reservation when I got there. Only good though if you're looking for a brief daytime use (for 1-2 clients maybe), not good if you're looking for an extended stay.
Perfect for NYC, if you have a place to crash. So no cc at all? You can pay cash, no deposit?

hotels.com...after 10 stays you do get a free night.
