It's time for me to step it up and have some professional photos taken. I'm looking for someone who can put a Suicide Girl-esque spin on the shoot. I know Aldo Antonio is a favorite in NYC, but upon going through his portfolio I decided he's not the right fit for what I'm looking for. I am more interested in showing my personality than my ass(ets), although that's obviously important too. Thinking more cute, punky girl-next-door in knee high socks and pigtails than expensive lingerie, glasses of champagne and stilettos.  

Any suggestions?

This Q has actually come up a few times recently ... I just don't remember if it was on the NYC, Boston, General or Newbie board ... or all of them.

From your current ads, I thought of Amsterdam TER ID: 129682 but I don't see a photog's watermark on her photos.  If you like her photos, maybe she'll answer an email or phone call about it.

Then, as you look at other ads and websites and find ones you like, ask the owners who took their pictures (if not marked on the photos).

WATERMARK YOUR PICS!  Even though you have a somewhat unique look or should that be :-= don't forget to watermark your pics.  Usually it's the professional fashion or non-XXX models or modelmayhem girls who have their pictures stolen but if some scammer sees a way to use your photos, they will.

READ THE CONTRACT!  In general, a real professional will let you OWN the photos.  In some cases, girls don't even want the photog to keep a digital copy. Some photogs might want to retain ownership or copyright privileges.  The next thing you know, you're running for President and they sell your pictures to the highest bidder (the OTHER candidate).  Think about your major concerns -- get some advice about such concerns here, as well -- and make sure they are covered in the written agreement.  A few things I'm remember from past threads: turnaround time.  I think someone said she had a great shoot with a great photog but it took MANY weeks for him to finish the project.  (What else do they do?  Photoshop, crop, blur ...?)  "First proofs will be available by DATE.  Final pics will be available X weeks after I submit approval of the proofs."  Whatever the lingo is supposed to be.  

Modelmayhem: that website has a "services" section where photogs list their services.  It might be worth a look but always check references to see if they are as good as their ads say ... kind of like TER!

Beware of the "I'm not a pro but I have a camera. I'll take your pics in exchange for services." Unless you hear it from me.

How do you know?  I read TER!   I remembered another example that was posted.  

Someone said it was her practice to ask for the digital media (SD memory cards) immediately out of the camera as they were used / filled up / and at the end of the shoot.  That way she had the pictures immediately and could crop, blur, whatever by herself AND she didn't have to worry about the pictures getting copied, kept on the photog's hard drive "by mistake" and so on.  

If you ever ask for actual prints (why, I don't know, unless you autograph them for your clients or use them on your Xmas cards), make sure you cover those contingencies, too.  Sometimes, there are test prints or contact sheets BEFORE making the final prints.  Make sure you get all of those prints or some guarantee that they have been completely destroyed, not just the final prints

I not playing any more with MM after one bad bad bad bad photographer took bunch of nude pic in central park and gave me just 5 edited .. I actually even not took his edited .. so he ot feel free to use other ones if it some how willcome up some place at List I was asking him to annul contract and yes .. I even do not re call the contract that he gave it to me .. he said - he gave .. I asked him forward copy - he never did ..it was MESS ..I hate  MM  now and I know that soo well about that you talking - after MM experience and not just with this one ..

 so advice  is -  never  down grade  any woman's abilities whatever it would be - or her  language , or her way of communication or how she cooks  etc  or how she dresses or how she smiles  or what she likes - her likes and dislikes her background - never bring her down- if you want to be with her .. as man have her body .. i she would not give it to you and even you will promise her billions ..

can be inspired by references.   This can help also in style of shot, exposure, props, lighting art direction location etc...

I suggest that you find the pictures you like and recognize what you like about them, then you can communicate much more easily.  Fotogs are visual people and a picture is worth a thousand words

While I totally see your point about focus on ass, etc. that Aldo often portrays, but he doesn't use my favorite shots as examples on his website and I have shot with him 3 times. Once indoors in Vegas, then outdoors in the Red Rock Canyon around Vegas, and lastly in NYC in a high rise hotel window filled hotel room (seen here). Each of the different examples are in my galleries. Communication helps, and he has many various styles as a highly trained lighting specialist and photographer.

I'm confused as to why you don't think you could get the pics/look you want with Aldo?  He doesn't choose your wardrobe, do your makeup or your hair?  

Now he is very good with lighting, angles, and has great suggestions on how to pose. Super professional, super nice, you can't go wrong with Aldo.
