Hi All

I will be in NYC in about 4 weeks - for a concert.  Looking for your recommendations.....

Looking for someone to join me at the concert, then come back to my hotel with me.  So a mixed social/private date.  Someone with a social rate, and a private rate!

Who would be your goto?

Who would you ask?

Who do you think would be fun?

I usually go for the 27 - 35 age range - but open to try something new!!

Some might want to know about the musical genre and the venue before replying.
.
- Your old NYC JHS Drama Club is performing their version of Grease! in the cafeteria, converted for the show with sets and lighting by the school PTA committee.
versus
- Katy Perry at Madison Square Garden
- Billy Joel at Radio City Music Hall
- NY Philharmonic at Lincoln Center
- Music Awards at Carnegie Hall
(Carnegie Hall is at 57th x 7th. "Do you want to know how to get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice!")
- Metropolitan Opera at the Met
- Concert in the Park at Central Park, bring your own blanket and umbrella
- Street buskers at Washington Square
- Your best friend from college is playing a gig at some bar in Queens
- Mamma Mia! at the Winter Garden Theater
.
You get the idea.

No - the genre is not really important..... but it poppy rock!

Its in a times square venue - but not MSG, more of a club type atmosphere!!

:-)

Q1. You mean the genre is not really important to YOU? (You like most kinds of music?) What about your date's preferences?
.
Q2. You have not chosen the concert yet and will do so "in concert" with your potential date? You and she will agree on a genre or group or show and a venue and THEN you will get the tix?
.
Q3. You will NOT be inviting your date to see The Naked Cowboy in Times Square?

It is a specific concert... a british band that never made it big here...

So naming it I doubt will make much of a difference to anyone....

I am coming up from Philly just for this show - as it is a one off US show!!

A full evening of fun outside and inside the room is a great way to build a connection and create magical memories. I've noticed many people have some confusion about social vs private rates.  A lot of mid and high end gfe providers offer social rates that are completely separate from any private time. These can not be combined with private time and are for platonic outings only. The average per hour for private rates tend to decrease the longer you spend with someone with the expectation that after a certain number of hours (usually three) there will be some outside social time. This incentivizes longer engagements.

Yes - it is all about finding that happy medium!!

And the idea would be to drive connection - if this all works out I will definitely want to see them again, and if I do this again...

I did try a few years ago for a big concert - that ended up being cancelled.  It was a goth band -so I was looking for a more "gothy" young lady.

Had it all arranged, then they cancelled the gig....  bit annoying, but what can you do....

but I know the idea was not alien to any of the ladies I talked to.  I have just been out of the NY market for a while - so was looking for a fun, GND type lady - and wanted to see if there were recommendations before I start reading through a lot of posts....

You are being elusive about the artist/band which tbh, I find annoying - It DOES matter who they are. I'd never go to see a band that wasn't the right genre for me - however if it was an artist I loved, I may even consider going for a SIGNIFICANTLY lower rate.

Sharing that here will help us narrow it down for you (or the ladies can respond directly, saving you a ton of time).

So, who is it?

Some people sleep through opera.
Some people HATE opera and will feel trapped if tricked into attending.
Some people LOVE opera.
If she loves opera and you take her to Turandot, when you take her home, Nessun Dorma (None shall sleep)!

it is a band called "Cast"

A poppy rock band from Liverpool.

They are the opening act on the Oasis world tour, and are taking advanrage of being in the US to do a headline show of their own.

Did that really help anyone?

It probably helped YOU by attracting the attention of those more interested in that group's music and by saving you from having to answer many PMs from those who (after the initial PM asking which group) turn out not to be interested in that concert.
.
Who knows, but maybe a touring Provider who is a fan will even try to schedule her trip to NYC to go to the concert with you as your guest and make more music afterwards. (QB is based on the West Coast but sometimes visits NYC. She asked "What concert?" above. Maybe she's a fan!)

You used is several times, so I don't think it's a typo, but what is meant by "poppy rock"? Is that a Britishism for "pop rock"?

Rose is absolutely correct.  I made the mistake a few years ago of inviting a lady to lunch for a couple of hours, to be followed by a couple of hours in the room.  I was thrilled to be paying a total of $600 for the first two hours and $1200 for the second two.

But I was wrong.

As a matter of good form, I always send the provider a final confirmation with final dollars stated.

Ooops!  She was very gracious but very firm.  If you're doing social and private time, the private rate applies.

There’s no universal standard when it comes to this topic, as each provider sets her own terms and pricing structure, which is quite common across many different aspects of this lifestyle.
.
Some may request a deposit in advance, while others operate without one. Similarly, certain providers may require RW verification, others may not. As a third example, some women request that a certain portion of an extended engagement occur outside the room, in public, while others do not, and so on and so on.
.
That said, I must concede it’s fair to observe that Rose’s approach seems to reflect a common practice, if not the prevailing one, currently in the lifestyle. But there are many, especially newer providers, that don't necessarily conform to those past norms.
.
Ultimately, your suggestion is the most reliable path to follow, i.e. to clarify the terms ahead of meeting up if need be. When in doubt, simply ask the provider directly if something is vague or missing from her website, ads, etc. Clear, yet respectful and professional, communication beforehand goes a long way in avoiding any misunderstandings later. :)
