I am wanting to come up North soon but, I dont want to get caught in ICe and snow. Also whats a good mid town section?

Also,in regards to your concern about ice, avoid the Rockefeller Center ice rink.

Hugh's right about that. Also stay off the Hudson and East rivers unless you take a pleasant day trip by Circle line or enjoy one of those really nice romantic World Yacht evening dinner cruises.
