I'll be coming to nyc in two weeks, never been before, can anyone recommend some bars etc, im staying by "hard Rock Cafe"

If you are staying at an upscale hotel, have the concierge get you on the list of the cool bars in the meatpacking district---Level V, Aer, One,...etc.  Lotus sucks now so don't bother going there.

If you are an older gentleman, go to 5757 at the Four Seasons,  Stone Rose at the Mandarin Oriental or Rise at Ritz Carlton in Battery Park

Stay away from the tourist bars in Times Sq and midtown.  They are a joke.
