I discovered at least that we aren't forced to "view all" after all, so we can still avoid the noise out there.

Sorry, I just had to rant a little.

this new format is confusing. i find a lot of the posts are not in chronological order.
i miss the old format but hopefully there are some adjustments
that will be done to make it easier.

it sucks! eom

so not feeling this new format. I am 28 yet this format makes me feel like i can't see anything-if that makes sense

I'm not crazy about it either...it looks like any new post to an existing thread moves that thread back to the top of the board, even if the thread started three or four days ago.

I guess we'll have to get used to it. I'm sure it'll be tweaked as time goes by.

I have gone to the moon with this new format.

What're u gonna do. Change happens. You either adapt or become extinct. I'm not crazy about it, but it's here, might as well get used to it.

Just as a side note, the new format has a WordPress Feel to it. I'm seeing this more and more around the internet. Again, I don't really like it, but it's the way things are going.

I know this is a radical change in form and function.  For me, I've yet to begin getting used to it, and I've had an earlier start.  Please post your comments, suggestions, etc, and I'll try to get them addressed.  Some things cannot change, but we can try to voice our opinions and improve upon this new format.

It seems the "view all" feature is gone.  That was a nice feature.  Also, it seems a post is returned to the top once a reply is added.  That is a bad feature because threads you may not have gotten to yet are now pages away.  Also, you cannot see when a new thread is added unless you open the entire thread.

These are certainly not improvements.

I've always found the message board format on TER difficult to use. For one thing, the thread structure tends to promote discussions that occur most recently, making longer discussions, that might otherwise go on for several days or weeks, very difficult to follow (and, hence, they almost never occur). A number of boards use vBulletin, which allows users to see the entire thread at once, which also promotes more substantive discussions. If I were making the change, I would have asked "how can we improve the overall quality of the discussion section of the board" and develop functionality around that.

I haven't tried out too many features but everything seems fine to me so far. My bet is that in two months none of you guys will remember the old site. Any takers?

To the top of the list. After all these changes and it's STILL the most difficult site to post pictures. Every other site you can bring pictures up from your personal library either from your PC or phone easy as pie without the use of an outside image holding site. I so wish they would have at least changed that feature among all these seemingly useless other changes.

I'm still undecided on the upgrade as far a viewing via a PC, but it definiately needs work if viewing from a mobile device such as a BB.

One, there is no "view all," so unless I'm missing something I need to click on each post to read an entire thread.  That's nuts!

Two, there is no reason on a board like this to "bump" threads to the top when someone makes a comment.  Unlike other discussion boards, on this one stale information is neither useful nor interesting.  If I want to see every post ever written about Provider X or Topic Y, I can do a search.  When I open the Board I want to see the newest posts!

The new version is not easy to look at.  The old version is very easy to look at and immediately SEE changes.

Apart from everything else that has been said: the printing of the reviews is poor, too gray, makes me fall asleep, kills my wish to read; hence it is counterproductive.
