I have just learned from a provider that there is a person or persons out in cyberspace that has hacked into the computers of providers procuring personal information including their true identities and addresses as well as those of family members and relatives. The providers have been cautioned to cease and desist their practices or otherwise, their friends and families will be notified of their activities. OMG. Is this prevalent? Does anyone have anything to share on this subject?

neighbors, and others outting my hobby activities and identity. Frankly I don't give a shit. They already know I hobby and see lots of girls. There are lots of nasty people in this hobby for sure.

More guys and girls are being outted in this biz by nasty miserable people (and ladies wonder WHY guys are hesitant to give out personal info????)

There are several girls in the biz who are very tech savy and they eliminate competition by hacking, outing the other grls.  Remember also that the guys that do the ads for the houses, girls, blogs etc know how to get into all computers, bypass firewalls and for a price they work for one girl, out other girls and then work for the girls they outed outing the first set.
Its a biz that it is anything for a dollar, thats why they are called whores, men or women, on your back or at a keyboard.

If a provider wants to eliminate competition, she should consider the fact that all girls here are here out of personal need.  Why does one girl have more of a right to be here than another girl?  We are all equal, and we are all people.  All providers have needs, and no provider is more important than another.

Also, there are a lot of guys here.  And, a lot of these guys hobby countless times, over the course of their life.  So, ladies, please don't fight over this big pie.  There's enough to go around for everyone.  Most guys do this repeatedly with several ladies whom they fancy.

If your business is slow, try to work on improving your own game.  Destroying other women is horrible, mean-spirited, and unethical.

A gal I saw at least 10 times (even took her away on a golf trip) had this happen to her.  She was so psyched and upset that she moved.  Guys who do this sort of thing are nut jobs, through & through. Worse, they are destructive. One thing I've learned over these past few years is to really appreciate the ladies who are providers. They make our lives better. They deserve our respect as well as affection.

They also save your personal information electronically, when they say they don't, and then put you in jeopardy if/when they get hacked. There are fundamental flaws in the screening system that's become prevalent in the industry, and this is just one very disturbing example.

If a guy wants to find info bad enough, he can find it.  It's not hard.

Unless you do a complete wipe of your hard drive, all the "erased" info is just really marked as "available to write over."  In other words, it's not too hard to get the info back if you know what you're doing.

There are some sociopaths and unbalanced people in this hobby, on both sides...
It is best to conduct yourself with a lot if discretion and discretion.

Yeah it might be prevalent.  I also know a provider that was outed exactly as described (maybe its the same one) and was not only forced out of the business but because she was here on a student visa was ultimately deported and now can't get back into the country no matter what.  The psycho truly took a wrecking ball not only to her secret life but her regular one too.  As luck would have it she was hands down the best provider I ever saw too!! Because he got into her records I did get a creepy email around the same time which made me sweat for a bit but its been six months and nothing has happened since.  But... it did make me realize that although providers say the personal info you give is for screening only and is not kept I have a feeling that a lot of times they do keep it -- if for nothing else to remember who you are if you schedule a second time.

Many, and I could name names, do indeed keep all your personal information, certainly IF it is in the form of emails. They say they won'[, but THEY CERTAINLY DO. OK,so it might suit their purposes, but that's not what they tell you: "No personal information will be retained."
BULLSHIT! They do it all the time.

On three separate occasions different providers I've seen have sent out mass emails to let past clients know their travel plans (even though I never asked for this "service") and mistakenly put all the email addresses in the "cc" field instead of the "bcc" field, revealing them all to the email's recipients. Now, I don't use my personal email address for hobbying. But, even so, this is yet another breach of personal security and privacy that could have devastating implications for hobbyists.

Security breeches don't have to involve something as sophisticated as a hack. Often, it simply involves a mistake.

I like to believe the best of people.  I just hate hearing about things like this!  I would much rather make friends with providers than dig my high heels into their back.  I love my girlfriends so much.  Admittedly,  I might be a tad envious if one is liked better.  But it is no fault of hers.  We are all beautiful in our own way.    And I am not nearly cruel enough to ruin a life.  Geeze.   Most of us have something to lose.  You would think this would help us protect each other.

Perhaps this is a reason some girls avoid the spotlight and request that no reviews be posted?

But yes, sadly,  I have heard sad variations of this story.  Threatening exposure to work or sa, etc. I have also received  bad review threats from guys I haven't seen- whether as a personal preference or my not getting to their email soon enough.  I wish things would not be taken so personally...

It's awful how spiteful people can be to one another.  As Tattoed_Asian and ms.mocha have surmised,  there is plenty of room for all of us.   Maybe karma will show a face, lol.

Be careful, my friends.

Hello Sexegenarian,

I am writing in regards to your post on TER in regards to outing. We've had a similar incident happen to one of our ladies recently. The person did not hack into our system but instead recognized one of her photos online and started posting a ton of threats on her personal blog, connected to her on facebook on the pretense that he/she knew her and started writing to her facebook friends and family to tell them that she was a high class hooker, wrote to the magazines she has appeared in (Playboy, Maxim) in order to let everyone know that she works as an escort, etc.. It literally would NOT stop for about 3 weeks, until she decided it was best for her to get out of the business and move to Paris (which she did at the end of August). We never found out who it was. At first, we thought it was a client who became obsessed with her but then we assumed that it very well be a competitor who was trying to drive one of our best girls out of the business.

We also get a TON Of emails from hackers every week.... the emails are an attempt to access our system by sending bogus links, etc...

Would you happen to know who this situation happened to? I am thinking that perhaps if all the victims could discuss together, we could eventually find out who the common link is between all of us?

Your help would be highly appreciated. Thank you so much for your post, it is very sad but somehow reassuring to know that we are not the only ones targeted.

Never believe your personal info is protected? Your on crack, if you believe your info is secret. Don't give it out if it will ruin you. The best way to protect yourself is not to give a fuck! Yeah, I visit chics on this site, so WHAT.

There is another thought here. Hackers do not only fall under the classification of jilted clients and competition - there are geeks in the Morals Police, too. A number of uncomfortably high-profile events have occured in cities on the East Coast - are these cases all in one or two areas? It's not hard to access area info on the ladies (we ARE on the New York board), and a good hacker can use a number of methods to gain info. Attacks like this are rare (fortunately) but not that difficult (unfortunately) - I'd say multiple attacks on multiple sites whose base is in in one area are the work of one person.
