The following article appeared in the NY Daily News of December 30, 2015 on page 5:
Gangsters invade Bordello, tape and stack Johns, like wood
Two Long Island men made a late-night trip to Queens, hoping to buy a hoverboard, only to find themselves ambushed, robbed and bound, the victims told the Daily News. The 2 men, ages 34 & 40, went to a home in Jackson Heights, a known brothel according to cops, on Sunday, answering an ad selling hoverboards for $100 to $200, the victims said.
As they entered, three men grabbed them from behind, one of them brandishing a black handgun, police sources and the victims said.“The door opens and this guy is like, 'Hurry up! Get in, quick!' I walk in and it's very dark and there's this guy standing on the side of the door. I say 'Hey,' and then I see this guy's wearing a mask,” he said.
These men, residents of Babylon and Bay Shore, Long Island were bound by duct tape at gunpoint and robbed.
"As I'm walking in the (first) guy grabs my arm. All the sudden I hear the duct tape rip. Then I see a guy on his knees and he was duct taped and three other women on their knees duct taped and other people are scattered all over the place duct taped. The trio bound the victims’ hands and took $500 and two iPhones, sources said. They said they weren’t the only victims."They start to pile us up on each other like a pyramid. They're just piling us up, one on top of the other,"
"They were stacking us up. It was like a mountain."The robbers ran off, and the two men freed themselves and flagged down cops."I grabbed a key and cut the tape off another guy. All of a sudden people start running. Everybody just scattered like cockroaches,” A police source familiar with the case said that they were the only two people to report themselves as victims, though it’s possible that if others were present, they may not have gone to police because they didn’t want to own up to being in a brothel.

Brothels outside of Manhattan seem to all be risks for this. Dirty places and potentialy dangerous in run down buildings. I think the Asian places in Manhattan are safer in certain locations like midtown east and west. Probably because of the foot traffic there makes such a hit harder to do.

Potential gang war among the Mexican/Central America gangs? or just some stupid thugs who will now be on the run from a cartel?

This is why prostitution should be legalized to get rid of these scum and make is safe for professional providers as well as clients.
