I've been hobbying for many years. I began before I even met my wife, stopped for awhile but then continued again after a couple of years of marriage. All things considered, the home life continues to be quite good as I've managed to keep my hobby life and personal life completely seperate. Despite the fact that I have managed some more personal friendships with a couple of the woman that I've met over the years and and we are still friends and in contact to this day.
I think my desire to started hobbying in my mid twenties bore out of a lack of confidence and poor self esteem (for reasons I wont get into here). At the time I just never felt "desireable" enough to approach a woman cold. In many ways I still dont.
I'm just shy of 40 now and I've noticed something unusual happen in the last 2-3 years. Women are beginning to gravitate toward me. In general, some of the women I work with are approaching me more. I was unaware of it at first until some friends started to point out that a number of the newer and younger women at the office seem to have crushes on me. I dismissed it at first but it has become clear to me that for whatever reason, I have an appeal I didn't have before. Maybe because I'm more established in my field and at work I tend to exhude more confidence than I ever did at home.
So, I thought it this was just amusing initially and continued to hobby here and there to sate any impulses I might have but there is one woman who seems to really be "into me". She's in her mid to late twenties, working with us in another department for about three years. Through her efforts to "get to know me" we've actually become friends and while I always thought she was very attractive I've sort of become "into her" too.
Our conversations have become more personal and even though she knows I'm married and I know she has a serious boyfriend of many years, that hasn't stopped the flirting. We've begun spending time together outside of the office. Harmless stuff like lunch, coffee, choosing to accompany one another on work related errands outside of the office, etc.
Now... NOTHING has happened, not even a casual brush of our hands together as I've tried to stay disciplined and avoid such things, but my resolve is weakening. It feels like all I have to do is let it and something IS going to happen between us.
I know, I KNOW it's a bad idea. We both have so much to lose, albeit I have more to lose than she does.

Well , since you asked [lol]...I have three comments to your post.
[1] You are going to do it. You revel in the reality this is happening to you and you want to share the news. Not being critical...the board is a good outlet for that need. You may or may not receive affirmation....probably should expect a mixed response.
[2] You might have a wife and you might have an office mistress....but I suspect it will just be a matter of time before you begin to miss your hobby honeys.
[3] Affairs rarely turn out well. I have been and indeed am in the same place you are [ albeit a little older...advanced]. I have avoided affairs....never had one. I know it is but a male rationalzation and if caught with a Provider my wife is not going to accept this...but that has been one boundary I have not crossed. Hobby...oh hell yes....develop affectionate relationships with ladies of the ancient and honorable profession...you bet! But an emotional attachment and responsibilities [ yes , along with an affair comes certain responsibilities and expectations] of an affair..... No.
I enjoy a long and joyful marriage. I attribute some of that fortune to the marvelous ladies I have met through the years via the hobby. Seriously doubt if I would have survived an affair or two.
Of course, this is my roadmap. But think this through my friend.

in short, while this girl will make you feel like a stud and you will probably feel you have both met your soul mate.IT ALWAYS ENDS BAD. 1) you are officially cheating. no need to say more. 2) someone else in the office always knows and tells everyone else. 3) at some point one of you moves on and the other doesn't.

I'm certainly no prude, but in situations like this I remember a few wise phrases from people I trusted.
