Just a question in general - Can any providers give reasoning behind why they do not accept agency references? Is it because you are not speaking with the provider in question or is it something else? I just ask as I am someone who has mostly seen agency providers in the past but have also seen independent providers sporadically as well. However when trying to use agencies as a reference I have been given the "sorry, not accepted" response and then not given the chance to give employment references either. Any reasoning behind it? If so it would much be appreciated. Thank you all.

I worked for agencies for nearly two years, when I was new. I've been independent for nearly five years. I do accept agency references, but only from trusted agencies, and only if the reference is corroborated by a reputable independent.  

There are many reasons. Here are a few:

1) First and foremost, the person giving the reference did not spend time with the client. She usually just scheduled the guy. She will only know that he was generally safe, paid, and that there were no *major* complaints. (Even if a girl does complain, I've known of many cases in which the agency has continued to book the client w/no warning to the next girl)

2) I don't trust agencies' standards. Agencies are generally concerned with volume, not quality. An independent will ask if a client is clean, polite, respectful, etc., in addition to being safe (at least, I do). Agencies I've worked for, on the other hand, have continued to book clients who overstayed, had bad hygiene, or were complete jerks. There are MANY agency clients I saw years ago who would never get a chance with me as an independent.

3) Agencies, in my experience, tend to attract a different type of client (although, there is definitely a lot of crossover). Agency clients tend to book last-minute, seek convenience, want shorter dates, and prefer a fast-paced session rather than a more organic date-type meeting. They can be less respectful. Yes, there are TONS of exceptions, and a lot of really nice agency clients out there, but that's the trend I noticed based upon many, many experiences.

I'm one of "those girls". I realize it's kind of a pain for everyone involved (me too, believe it or not! Lol), but the longer a lady does this, and the more experience she gains, and the more secure she is (financially, client base, whatever), there are some risks that just don't seem as worth it anymore. That will vary from lady to lady, but I think Voodoo has covered the main reasons that I have or have heard. Bottom line, I know better than to trust an agency I'm not extremely familiar with.  

I've had a number of guys mention that they don't think this is "fair", which is strange to me. I've never seen anyone suggest to a man that he should take someone's word on a lady who he knows is an unreliable reference, and I've never seen anyone suggest that a guy shouldn't take his own precautions to make sure that he doesn't experience a "bait and switch". This is the same thing, just on the other side

I know agencies make things easy for you guys, I do. But nice and easy for you can potentially bring a whole slew of problems for me, which leads to problems for you and more problems for me... A vicious cycle

Only A pretty new client will have a reference from an agency ONLY.  In that case I might also ask for a copy of his ID ahead of time (which I would share with my assistant until after our meeting) and/or only meet at my in call location (no out calls).  

If the agency reference is one of a few, then it's perfectly fine.

I excepted references from SDAsiangirls here in San Diego many times. They always get right back to me and the clients I've seen from there have always been just fine.

I will accept a reference from a couple of agencies in my city that is the only exception.
Other than that I normally do not accept references from agencies in other cites.But I will still provide a reference to an agency when they do email me.
However,if a gent does offer alternative info for screening such as employment info that is fine with me instead of the agency/independent reference.
Perhaps the provider you reached out to doesn't accept employment info as screening.
The reason I don't accept agency references I find with some agencies their screening methods are vastly different than mine.So a reference from certain agencies does nothing for me.

Also the agency is not the person who spent time with a gent alone in a room for an hour or multi-hours at a time.Perhaps the provider does not share with the agency she works for how the guy had issues(bad hygiene,rude,pushing for bbfs,shorting envelope,and many other not so good things)in fear of not getting appts if she complains.So the agency thinks he is an ok client but he is not.
I like to speak directly with a provider regarding a reference.
The few times I accepted references from agencies in other cities they would not respond to me.

Lots of P411 gals accept newbies and have high TER ratings with prices that are only a slight premium to the better agency gals. Example: You can find many $500/hr 9/9s on P411 who will post an OK assuming you're a gentleman. In my experience 80% of P411 indys will screen just off of a high number of P411 OKs as long as some are from the last 6 months. Personally I've been nearly exclusive with my fav for almost 5 mos. now but plan to see 2-3 other indys in September, mostly just to refresh my references but also to combat the take-me-for-granted-syndrome. Agencies offer fresh talent, zero drama, easy scheduling and great prices. That is real value. But indys can be more compelling even at higher rates when carefully selected and well-treated.

We do not fall into that category and we have been praised by many independents for our strict screening procedures which are painless and confidential. Some agencies are mainly interested on high volume and unsafe dates. We concentrate on safe, pleasant experiences for our ladies and our awesome clients so we can ensure a fantastic time and long lasting relationships.

I can't speak for others, but one thing i take very serious is the screening process and who i give references to and for... Only half ass people would do otherwise. People should do the research and know which people are reputable and trustworthy.

I don't take agency references because I just don't want my contact info in their records.  They're a big fish and I'd rather stay small fry if you know what I mean.

I have always been told by Indies if they don't accept references from agencies, it's because they want to know how the actual interaction went with the client, not just that he was safe. I still get plenty of reference requests from Independents.  

It's silly to say that agencies have "low screening requirements" because we are the ones with targets on our backs so naturally it makes sense that we screen harder than the average Indy, I know I do. Also, I'm not only screening for my safety, but other ladies safety as well. Oddly enough, I've spoken with clients that have met with reputed ladies and the reputable, well known indy allegedly "met them downstairs for a cup of coffee" or "at the bar for a drink" as their form of screening. I assure you, I haven't accepted a meeting downstairs as sufficient screening for ladies, nor do I just have them text a pic as screening either.  

So there's agencies that don't screen well and indies that don't screen well. I only ask references from certain Indies as well and I know of some agencies that don't accept indies reference period. You just have to do your research, that's all.

This stemmed out of an issue where I attempted to see a provider, had seen and independent provider and an agency in the past (this was when I was fairly new to the hobby), and when she didn't get an answer and I offered employment verification she informed me she didn't accept that, but I later found out that she does. I guess I am just trying to see how to better interact with providers whether they are independent or agency based to better enjoy myself. Thank you all for your help.

I don't mean to sound redundant, but its very important that men realize the more experience we have the more "selective" we become. Primarily because we grow to learn trends and behaviors that impact our own mental well being for better or worse. When the point comes that we no longer only care about money, we start making sure that there is potential compatibility. That more than likely is born from meeting men who do more than leave a donation, they leave a positive vibe and lasting memory...which gives us the "practice" needed to attract those sorts of dates.

Often times, men who only see agency ladies require an on-demand service that we can't always provide. They also often times are in it for the service and not the journey....and once a lady cares more about the journey/compatibility than the service....she doesn't feel right meeting someone who isn't seeking what she provides.
