I have had some great luck with my Priceline addiction and got a pretty great hotel for my stay in 2 weeks.
I would like to set up the mood in the room to give it a very boudoir-ish feel. I am thinking of getting tons of candles, bringing along some exotic print scarves and bedding. I will probably for the first time ever, even be meeting new clients wearing only the bare minimum (maybe a nice gartered outfit with a robe overtop).
I don't plan on using any incense or scented candles, since many people have allergies, however, music is sets mood as well, and this is where it is extremely hard to choose. This is where I will need your help...
1) What is the best music to set the mood for a sexy bedroom?
2) Turn the lights off and use lot's of candles... dim the lights and use less candles, or keep the lights on, and use one or two candles?
Marvin Gay is always a great mood setter, but almost equally as great is Stevie Wonder ...his cd's just ooze sex appeal. Sade is also a good choice....And if pick and choose carefully, a compilation of songs by Ben Harper might just be the best of the bunch (i say choose carefully, though, because half of his songs are loud, Led Zeppelin-like rock. Hope that helps at all.
Candles--always great but not cheap scented ones. Lots of candles is nicer than electric lights although with a dimmer, you can manipulate the liting as you like. Music, good. Saw one provider that started off with a nice massage and had that noise machine with wave sounds and whatnot...actually very nice to my surprise. Music is tough as we all have different tastes...classical or easy jazz is good. Miles Davis (My Funny Valentine as an example). Lights off or dim but not so dark the client can't 'check you out'. Remember that if you like 'successful gentlemen over 40 years old, we are going blind! Maybe have some lights on at first and lower them once the initial procedures are done.
Another thing I think really works and unfortunately I have experienced only once in Europe is being greeted at the door by a woman who was dressed in a silk (not cheap nylon) long sexy nightgown with a beautiful thin silk robe over that. She had flat (not hooker heels) pretty ballerina style shoes on and made me feel I was having an elicit affair. Very sexy. Room should be neat--bathroom ready for a shower and TV OFF!!!!!
I agree with all your suggestions. Unscented, smokeless candles are a must for me as I have problems with strong scents. In terms of lingerie, the silk robe was exactly what I was thinking, however, over a nice lacey garter set, nothing too slutty, that just isn't me. I too am blind, so too dark combined with my awesome klutz-i-ness wouldn't work forme either. With enough light I can pull off being silly instead of klutzy! LOL
I liked all your suggestions and I usually stay at nice hotels which have cd players in the rooms but every once in awhile the 3 star hotel PRICELINE gives me does not have a cd player in the room BUT will have a slection ON DEMAND thru the television where you can select music so I will use that to play great jazz etc...
Soft instrumental music sets a nice mood but doesn't distract people from each other. Classical guitar or piano, or cool jazz (like the Miles Davis someone mentioned) works well. I would stay away from anything popular. I'd say the more obscure the better. You don't want people humming along.
I don't know if you can get it on CDs but the music Raul Valve does on the Andrew Blake DVDs creates a nice atmosphere. The High Heels DVD has no speaking. I sometimes play the DVD with the picture turned off because I like the music.
I have an IPOD with some awesome JBL travel speakers I have mixes of every thing from the brandenburg cocerts(Harpsichord music makes me hot) to Bird and miles, hot R&B,female vocalists ella, dinah washington ,Sarah vaughn,Diana Krall to the Stones, Led Zep, and the who...i plan my music by my guy, candles, fresh flowera amd lingeie. sometimes I'm wont to display mt large collection of playthings(god..love the toys) again,I personalize it as much as possible
