BY Aliyah Shahid DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Saturday, November 20th 2010, 12:48 PM TylerShields.comLindsay Lohan's was dropped from her role in 'Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story,' the film's director said. Lindsay Lohan's role in "Inferno" has officially gone up in smoke. The film's director, Matthew Wilder, told E! News that the production company will replace the troubled actress, who was supposed to play 1970's porn star Linda Lovelace. "We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support," Wilder said. "Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her-and some other issues-have made it impossible for us to go forward." Just last week Wilder insisted the 24-year-old troubled starlet would play Lovelace despite her legal problems, which included a stint in jail. Lohan is currently undergoing a court-ordered treatment for drug addiction in southern California. She's expected to be in rehab until at least Jan. 3. Wilder added that his production team is in negotiations with another actress and would make an announcement soon.
A rep for the "Mean Girls" star said "Lindsay is dedicated to her recovery and together they decided to move forward without her." [email protected]
