I would love some opinions here...ladies and guys.
In full disclosure, I had a momentary lapse of good judgement and texted a highly known/highly reviewed NYC provider with my wrong phone. It happens to be a number I have to keep due to business.
About a year ago, shortly after doing this, I started to receive regular text "specials" from this lady. I asked her several times to stop doing this becasue the phone was unsafe. They stopped and I had thought I had solved the issue. Fast forward to yesterday when the texts started again, and now they include photos. Thank the lord I was on the road and this phone was not sitting on the kitchen counter.
I know I made a careless mistake, but really?? This is a well know lady and one would think she might understand the issues she may be causing? Why not remove the number?
Thanks.
And before anyone asks, NO I will not share the ladies name
IDk what carrier you use but in many cases your cell phone company has an option for blocking a caller or serial texter . I have it on my phone you can block anyone .I have mine set to block unknown callers who choose not to reveal their number . Blocked numbers are blocked and they only get a message saying so if they share my same carrier . It is 9.99 a month and allows you to block up to 30 numbers .Good luck ,Kendall Lynn
Yes, that should be an option by simply logging into the cell service providers site and changing the settings. An impediment to this option is if it is a line used for the OP's business/work as he states, it may be the case his employer pays the bill...and he may be unable to authorize such changes to the cell account.
It is very unfortunate that the text alerts started up again for this gent. Clearly his number was archived and not deleted at all...very indiscrete. It's one thing to receive news letters or updates from a lady via hobby email, in which case one should have the ability to simply "unsubscribe" from receiving them. This is concerning and I hope he finds a simple resolution to the issue.
Zing, it matters not. But more importantly it has been stated that he would not reveal that info. I respect that. Such sensitive information is best left to PM if it is really that important to you IMO.
If someone is wilfully flagrant enough to not give a shit and potentially jeopardize others privacy; other potential clients ought to know so that they can choose not to engage if they wish
It is my belief that I don't help the situation by mentioning her name. Her methods thus far show that she does not care about me. Outing her could possibly only worsen my situation. I understand your point about letting others know, but hopefully you have a hobby only phone and that won't happen. I stated I would not. My word is my word
I believe you can add Mr. Number to your phone for free and block the number with that.
This also drives me totally CRAZY!!!! Now grant you I have many gents who say Keep in touch, feel free to text anytime....yadda yadda...NOPE just not for me to do that!! I do however have quite a few gents who I have known practically from day 1 who still contact me and keep in touch. I don't mind that but I would NEVER jeopardize someone' safety as this is just as important to my safety!!
Again sorry for this...geez why do people not learn discreteness...grrrrr!!!
I can't imagine just contacting a gent out of the blue! I would never randomly reach out to advertise to someone unless they had specifically requested that contact - for example, gents I meet while touring will sometimes request that I let them know when I'm coming back to town, and will touch base with me every now and then to remind me of that and inquire about dates and such. Particularly if someone informed me a number/email was no longer safe, it would be deleted on the spot! I certainly wouldn't want anyone else seeing my communications on a non-secure phone any more than the gent would.
I completely agree with other ladies that mentioned that we are compensated well specifically for this reason. We are a girlfriend experience, not a bother-you-everyday significant other ! I accidentally wound up on a ladies mailing list once after contacting her for a reference, and I found it incredibly annoying - luckily that's all it was, as opposed to be a risk to a marriage and such!
