The signal-to-noise ratio on Craigslist is certainly low, but there  are indeed worthwhile finds there - it's just a matter of using your common sense and the resources you have (TER being a fine example).  The appeal is perhaps finding those rare high-quality part-time providers, who keep under the radar of the big paid-listing ad sites.

but several of the ads are from respected providers!
Go figure.
