TOFTT. Visited NYC from out of state to visit with Ms. Tang.Asked for a nearby hotel located near to her incall and took her recommendation. On day of our meeting, Ms. Tang was a no show, offered no communicastion.I departed the city in disappointment and requested my deposit be refunded. Ms. Tang did return my deposit in full. I would not recommend Ms. Tang based upon my experience.

Thanks for the heads up.  Sounds like there was some communication about the deposit after you left. And it sounds like she returned some, but not all, of the deposit.  Did she offer an explanation then?  Did she say anything?

She is a well-reviewed provider, so this seems out of character.

Sorry.  I misread. She did return the deposit in full.  So was there an explanation?  or an apology?

Unfortunately, things happen with providers just like anyone else, and often the only remedy is return of the deposit.  I would hope she apologized.

She is well reviewed so I don't think this is a toftt. It does suck that you did not meet but at least she did refund your deposit. Did she tell you why she no showed? What was the communication like before? You say that you visited NYC specifically to meet her, is it possible that you spooked her in your messages to her?

Did you have to ask for the deposit to be returned, or did she do so without prompting?

1. Booking was done 1 or 2 months before date (that happens a lot, nothing new)
2. When guys book way ahead of time, I always get some sort of "hey looking to see you next week", in this case nothing at all. Not saying it's mandatory, but it's what I'm now used to.
3. On the day of, zero communication from either party. It was a busy personal day for me, and I didn't check my calendar.
4. The only communication from other party after the fact is "I don't need an apology, just my deposit back" which was handled *immediately and specifically* as requested. I would have been happy to explain what had happen, but I was given no chance to do so. Except now in public. What a gentleman.
5. Life goes on.

It sounds to me both are at fault here. Anna should have sent a reconfirm message in advance. And she could have apologized and given explanation when she returned the deposit, or even offered concession for future appointment (this has happened once to me where the provider had to cancel last minute and gave me an extra half hour for the reschedule, not required but a nice gesture).

But my man, if you booked the appointment months in advance and then didn't message in between, how would either of you guaranteed to remember? You could've sent a  reconfirm on your own, even something as simple as looking forward to seeing you on xxyy date. You have many reviews so you've seen many girls, you have to know by now that several aren't the greatest at logistics (which is why many hire assistants), so you could take some initiative to verify an appointment you are flying in for.

And from what she stated, you didn't want an apology or an explanation, just the deposit refunded. So she did what you wanted. Yeah it's disappointing, you called her out on the board, but left out a couple details, and she responded filling in some of the blanks. Life goes on, plenty of other girls.

Kudos Anna for explaining in public. Things happen, it's true.  We've all spaced out on meetings and appointments and certainly there's shared responsibility. BTW, you're on my bucket list. A bit out of my range but I hope to meet before I retire!

From my perspective, the deposit is the confirmation. That’s kind of the whole point of them. The client shouldn’t have to follow up and confirm because they already confirmed when they paid a portion in advance. If the provider wants or needs additional confirmation, they should be the ones reaching out. Or, they should at least ask for additional confirmation in their ad/website or request it during the booking process.
.
That being said, I would usually send a follow up/confirmation. It is a habit I developed before deposits became normalized and there are usually logistical details that need to be worked out in advance. Also, this wouldn’t prevent me from booking with Anna in the future. Mistakes and miscommunications happen and Anna returned the deposit. Her response demonstrates a certain maturity and an ability to handle conflict.
