You know that nobody saw you and there are no cameras in your office sand you have eyes in the back of your head and there are no key cards or anything else that could ever connect you or your career to this issue, like the email account or computer you used for this post.   Okay, in that case, I would mind my own business, but I'd bet you won't.

And...and...and...and...I could go on.........

Hi All!
I haven't been on the site for a really looong time :(
I've been insanely busy with work

I hope you don't mind helping me with a moral dilemma.

I have a executive management position in the company I work for.
Its a not a large corporation yet not a very small business.
I became aware of a lower level manager that's been making out with an employee in his department while on 'company time' and on the premises...
I have evidence that its an ongoing thing, not a one time that I stumbled on.
I don't know if anyone else (in his dept or otherwise) is aware.

I'm torn:
I feel that people are human and she's pretty/cute and yada yada.
I don't know the girl but I do know that he's single.

I'm concerned for it potentially blowing in a jealous husband/BF situation or a harassment/lawsuit situation.
It could be mutually consenting adults or maybe not.
If I tell his superior, he will likely be asked to quietly quit and it will likely cause some upheaval nonetheless.
He's skidding on somewhat thin ice for other minor infractions.

One last point, if I don't say anything, no one will know that I know !!

I'd love to hear some thoughts from ya'all.
Thanks!!

Couple of options come to mind: Does your company have an ombudsman? Larger companies do; maybe he/she can act as a 3rd party without either of them knowing it was you; since they would keep source confidential. Second option is to personally talk to this guy; as you said he is threading on thin ice; especially carrying on company property. Any relations with a subordinate may also open up sexual harassment allegations whether real or imagined (say he dumps her and she is scorned)

No good deed goes unpunished . Stay out of it neither one works for you I assume .

STFU.

They will find their own trouble without your help. Keep your mouth shut or at some point karma and this hobby may collide and that would be tragic right?
Let THEIR life/problems/poor work etiquette be theirs and not yours.
Simple, sweet and willing,

If the guy's doing this on company time and he's not getting his work done, he's not being productive - bring the hammer down.

But if the guy's doing his job and he's being productive, cest la vie. As long as he's not flaunting it, let it be. And if he gets to the point where he's flaunting it, someone else will eventually bring it to your attention if you are directly managing him.

Again, it's your call.

Good luck.

thanks for all the input!

If this relationship is consensual then indeed they should have a blast but its very risky.

I too agree there's no good answer to this, I'm choosing to keep it to myself and let them screw things up in a more glorious way!

If it does somehow get out that I knew, I WILL have music to face but that's less likely than the back wash that bringing this to tomorrow's executive meeting. :)

I'm at ease with this and will attend tomorrow's meeting as normal...
thanks as always!!

cheers :)

There are so many issues involved in this scenario. It seems you have a conscience and the behavior of the employee is bothering you; that is why you are sharing this online? You are in a leadership position, you have moral obligations as a leader for that matter and you have awareness that something is going on under your watch. Am sure you know the company policy regarding such employee affairs etc. There is nothing wrong with employees making out but there is an issue if they do it on company time. It becomes a habit, they get comfortable and they will keep doing it.
