Three years ago, my family suffered a tragic loss in the death of my nephew - in New York. Three years later, my sister is gaining her strength, and made a trip to New York last week to piece together some of the mystery of his death. In spite of the time passed, she was able to speak to some people and 'trace the steps' in order to have some 'closure'. I was filled in today about her trip and wanted to extend the gratitude to you folks that she was greeted by everyone she spoke to with the utmost of kindness, empathy and warmth. She commented that they all gave her their time, their consideration, and incredible compassion.
We New Yorkers are a special breed. We may have the strange, uncultured accents, and we may seem cold and angry when aroused, like on 9/11, but deep down we are compassionate, kind and helpful people.
And we do love our beautiful, talented and tasty San Diegans (I hope that's right).
Sorry to hear about your loss...I'm sure its been especially difficult for your sister...to lose a son at an early age. I'm happy to hear she was able to seek out some closure and New "Yawkers" helped her along the way.We are not a bad bunch unless maybe we're stuck in traffic somewhere...lol
