I should state the agency I use is a New York agency, I come to NYC vs. any other city for the excellent ladies here. If you look at my reviews and I do post reviews I love the NYC ladies.
Maybe my fear is for every great one I see, there are 15 more out there, I won't be able to enjoy.
AS Frank Sinatra should have said "I want every piece in it, New York, New York"
The reviews seem to be an ongoing problem. Not being a native New Yorker, when I get a chance to come to your fair city I would like to be able to rely on the reviews but it would seem no one is pleased with the current system.
Accurate reviews appear to get pulled at the request of the provider. (see below). Staff asks us why there aren't more VIP members. Some heavy hitters on the discussion board appear to keep some info to themselves or are getting censored.
I end up using an agency because I know one of the nonprovider staffers well having dealt with her on other matters. This obviously means I pay an agency premium but it also means I get quality talent who I want to be with. That is a vote for the agency girls appears to be a rarity on this boards. Not knocking the indies since they appear to be only ones who provide interesting, intelligent, and helpful conversation to the board.
As Ihave said before, I really like this discussion group but the review process here is problematic. Every time I read someone knocking someone else for not doing a search, I laugh because the process just feeds the old adage of "bad data in equals bad data" out.
I admit I have no good solution to the problem other than having the moderator review each and every review and then go see each and every provider to verify the data. I suppose a blue ribbon panel could be appointed to review the process but until then, I then I will just go ahead and let my VIP membership and participate in the boards.
There are tons of reviews of great providers at all three of these fine incall establishments. You can't find this kind of reliable action (DFK, BBBJ, DATY, two pops) from hot providers for $$$ or less at incall places in many other cities. In L.A., giving just one example, other than AMPs or all-Latina cantinas, they don't even have real incall places.
If you don't like the New York action, just keep jerking yourself off in Cleveland, Cincinnati, or wherever the hell you hail from!
Also, you would need to go further west and south than Ohio to find me but I do appreciate the fact that as a New Yorker you were able to identify places west of the Hudson (LOL, grin)
...but the way they're used by some and not used by others. There are over 1000 reviewed providers in the NYC area. VIP members can do a search, narrowing down the list by any number of criteria, getting just a few providers who provide what they want.
Once you have that list, look at the reviews. See if the guys liked those services, or were dissatisfied for whatever reason. Look at the reviewer's review history. See if he's seen other providers that you have seen, and if his impression of that provider agrees with yours. That legitimizes the quality of his reviews.
I do this (among other little things) every time I look at meeting a new provider. Generally speaking my experiences have been excellent because I've done the homework. The only real dud had no TER history and I took a chance.
All this, and my degree isn't in Rocket Science.
My experience with providers asking for reviews to be pulled (and Blur, if you read this please confirm), is that they can verify that the review is bogus, or if it is so out of synch with all the other reviews she may have. Or if she goes inactive for whatever reason.

the reviews are good. You must differentiate between the pure phonies from the regulars.
If there are very many reviews, that's a good sign. If there are very few reviews, and the reviewer(s) is/are unknown, I would hesitate before spending a dime.
If the reviewers are known on the boards, no matter how many reviews exist, then you have an excellent shot at believing them.
IMHO.
The reviews are the source of the most comprehensive data on providers, and the place where members make the greatest contribution to other hobbyists. As a rule they are not "bogus" and Staff does a great job weeding out those that are...
I agree the overall ratings are good to great but they should be. Today's hobbyist is an educated consumer, using the web to find the most attractive women, checks reviews to find best service, and writing an autobiography for public comsumption. And he's GETTING LAID, which means his base review should probably start at a 5
But that reviewer, making the effort, is the MVP to me.
And remember this about the bad reviewers, we do not have the same in-depth info on him...what did he look like, smell like, feel like that day? service in this biz is a two way street...
I too am a little tired of the review bashing, and the worst part of it is how it may discourage posting reviews. The good news is that the negative posters are a tiny pct of overall members....
To me the real "heavy hitters" are the guys posting reviews to benefit all of us, not these men that seem so invested in their "expert" status on the boards that they have lost the sheer joy of the hobby...
guys, lighten up, go to the atm, go get fucked, have a good time and tell us about it...in a review.

Could not have said it better.
There's a wealth of data out there. You just need to know how to harvest it.
Ditto! Great post Blur!
As far as Frankee....Don't misquote the Chairman of our Board man!
"I want to be a part of it...NY...NY"
Now, that's more like it. LOL..We have to keep you West coast dudes in line....a case of NYWANNABEEITUS mun,,,lol
CHEERS!
THis is complicated stuff. Things sometime take a bit of time to work out here. In this case, the review was pulled pending a better look. I looked at the history of the reviewer, and the review the provider had in the past and had to make a decision. The decission is the review stays up. (unless we get more info)
There are only 2 people who know what actually happened in that room. I am not one of them (though I kind of wish I was ![]()
BTW, one huge difference between TER and the other board is that board moderators here (blur) have NOTHING to do with the review process. They are well respected hobbyists who volunteer their time to make the discussion boards a better place. They do not approve reviews. This is done by employees of TER.
TER is a community policed site. This means that we count on YOU guys to help us make good decisions about reviews. If you see something wrong, speak up. If not…. Fuhgeddaboutit…

I would like to say on behalf of my girlfriend "Samantha of Julie's NYC" that it is not that simply to get a review off. Samantha was recently given a review - 6's- that was meant for "Princess Samantha" another Samantha that has returned to Julie's - and insists being "Samantha". Julie even informed TER, but the bad-informed review is still there.
