Does any of the ladies or gents have any suggestions on restaurants with a great dessert wine selection? Or any good sushi places? To the local ladies, can you suggest any hair salons or nail salons? To the gents, what areas in the City are most convenient for you to get to.

Sushi Yasuda - 43rd St (bet 2nd & 3rd).

Midtown - East or West

I'm gonna get my chop sticks ready. I am a sucker for sashimi, and yukiwa maki.

Bond Street has superb sushi and is downtown with a much cooler vibe.

Mid-town east for hotels, absolutely.

Enjoy!

They have three locations:  46th between 8th/9th, UWS (called Gari), and 78th between 1st/York.

Two words for convenient location:  Midtown east.

Great bar and cool people ]

I vote Masa, Bar Masa and Jewel Bako in the Village!

Mase is amazing (you need to sit at the counter where the master himself will serve you, rather than the tables).  However, it ranks as one of the most expensive meals to be found anywhere, figure at least 500k per person with modest beverage requests.

I agree. It's insanely expensive so it's a special occasion. But if I want a quick nibble, I'll go to Bar Masa (the smaller and more low key sister restaurant) for a snack or light meal. Still not cheap, but a girl needs to treat herself with something special in her mouth!

Bar Masa is great too, often enjoy it when I am in the Time Warner Center.  Perhaps you will join me there sometime?

Would love to. Been told I have a tongue like the best toro. Ok, back to being modest...

Sushi Seki is a small restaurant in the East 60s on First.  Open very late, the owner is a Sushi master (he was one of the original chefs at Gari if I am not mistaken) who does both traditional and modern sushi.  Overshadowed by Yasuda but equally well reviewed, I think it is the best in the City.
