To the providers on the board, I would like to know how you've been able to secure apartments in the city?

I have a friend that needs to rent an apartment asap but she has no paychecks to show as proof of income, which everyone had been asking her for. So I was wondering if any of the providers here may have come across this problem before. If so how did you work around it?
