Where in NYC is there a discreet place to rent the internet for researching this hobby????

I used to use Web Zone in Cooper Square, but they went out of business, every other place has no privacy, and everybody walking in has to stare at your pc screen.

Many Thanks

Pmail me and I will tell you where to go .Kendall

I'm not a VIP so I can't send or receive PMs. Is your recommendation really such a secret?

I've used internet cafes around Manhattan with the bolted on monitors and the possibility that someone is looking over your shoulder. Very annoying. I keep a couple of windows open including a full-size generic (yahoo, newspaper, sports - entertainment) window and I keep the hobby window kind of small. In a pinch, I just slide the mouse, click anyplace on the full-size window and all is covered up by the latest news about Lindsay Lohan or a Wall Street scandal.

In case others aren't aware of it, FedEx-Kinkos and some other places that provide computer rentals with internet access block a lot of sites that they disapprove of, including TER. I tried using a proxy to get around the block but FedEx blocks the proxies, too.

The most private place is having your own 300 dollar laptop and using a free wifi hot spot like Bryant Park or Starbucks.

I think I've figured out the clues: I'm supposed to make an appointment to see you so you can tell me the rest of the secret in person!

You know where to find me Imp:) Kendall
